I haven’t done a blog in quite awhile. A lot of stuff has happened, a lot I could write about but then sometimes I just never know what I want to say, so I end up not writing anything. Probably not the best way to run a blog, but it’s my blog right?

Also be sure to check out my page on Twitter for my latest posts. There I pretty much say whatever is on my mind about pretty much… anything.

First, a public service announcement:

World of Warcraft “Friendly” Reminder:

Attention Alliance PVP Idiots! (most of which are bots anyways)

When in PvP Battlegrounds, keep your fat, grubby, disgusting, imperialistic, tin-pot dictator-serving, blue-blooded paws off my Azerite, carts, resources, bases, flags, and pretty much anything and everything else in there, just die when attacked. Thank you. And remember: You suck!

And stop fooking cheating and running bots! Learn how to actually play!

A Little Trip in the Virtual “Way Back” Machine…

It’s recently been occurring to me that Second Life makes it possible for me to, in a way, revisit one my favorite hangouts from back in the 80s, now long since gone in the real world. I’m building a model of one of my old favorite record stores, Mainstream Records and Tapes, which was located in a strip mall near 76th and Layton Ave in Milwaukee, WI. Now long-since gone. While I’m not building the strip mall, I’m rebuilding the store as it was inside the strip mall (as if you sectioned the store out of it) with the entrance to the store as you walked into the front entrance shared by 1 other store in their particular part of the small strip mall at the time. (It was a weird arrangement.)

This was one of the earlier shots. While I’m not using the actual front texture of the strip mall the store was in, I am using one of wood accents that characterized Mainstream, at least at this particular location. I was fortunate to find a Mainstream Records logo from back in those days for the front window. And of course, I had to find a “Ticketron” logo for the sticker on the window, since that was how you got concert tickets back in the 80s before Ticketmaster was a thing. I also found logos of two local rock radio stations from that era, WLZR LAZER 103 FM (they also had an AM simulcast but I don’t remember the channel anymore) and the late great 93 WQFM FM that rocked Milwaukee’s airwaves from 1973-1996 until their parent company, Shamrock Communications was bought out by Clear Channel (now iHeart Media) and they turned the once awesome rock station into a shitty “Smooth Jazz” station. (Kind of reminded me of in the movie “Airheads” when everyone found out “Rebel Radio” was becoming a shitty “easy listening” station.)

This was the beginnings of my rebuilding the store before adding any of the wood accent textures. I tried to build the interior layout of the store as I remembered it, as you walked in, up the steps to the riser in the store entrance, around the front counter, then into the store– all wood-accented. The sound of boards clunking and creaking under your feet, the smell of either “Sandalwood” or “Sex on the Beach” incense in the air– and it was always either Spiritual Sky or Gonesh Sticks, and they had a selection for those in the “Head Shop” in the back. (Hence the back room).

I don’t know if I have the wood accents correct. It has literally been over 2 decades or more since I was able to set foot in this place. But I’m trying to do it best as I remember. The front counter is as best as I can remember it. The front riser had steps that went down into the store and out the front entrance. Out on the floor were the record racks, and even on the right edge of the riser and down on the floor next to the riser were racks of records. On the left wall next to the counter were the cassette racks, and on the opposite wall that I remember, a wall of t-shirts for sale. Not to mention album flats all over the walls and so forth. So at this point will be the real work, making the record and cassette racks (I don’t remember how CDs were, and CDs weren’t really a thing until the late 80s that I recall). I also have to figure out how to do the “tshirts” on the wall. So I got a little work to do. But I will share the progress on this model as it develops.

This I could not help doing. For one of the old record crates I found a logo for “Peaches Records & Tapes” – another long-since defunct local record store. I applied the texture to this record crate I bought in Second Life from the Marketplace. For reasons I cannot explain, it would not be unusual for a store like Mainstream to end up with a crate like this in their store (maybe due to purchased assets from the store’s closure, who knows) but I definitely plan to have at least 1 record crate in this store with this little nod to Peaches Records & Tapes also.

This was another must- I took another record crate and applied an image of the old 93QFM Hometown Album project as a texture shown here. I definitely want this to have all the feel of the old Mainstream Records and definitely an homage to 80s Milwaukee Pop Culture.

I will have more to share on the development of this model in future blogs.

Antares Class Starship Build – Second Life

For my Second Life Star Trek TOS roleplay, I’m building an RP model Antares class freighter ship. But since I’m not building it to scale I’m not fully able to follow the internal schematics to the degree that I’d like, so I find I have to improvise. In either case, the ship is being build for group roleplay rather than to be an exact model of the ship from the “Charlie X” episode. So my interior design my differ from the actual schematics and also somewhat from the design from the show to a certain extent. Still this has been a fun project.

My character, Nyrva, who serves as my main Second Life character (and my building character) standing on the bridge of the ship, which, due to the size of the model, is not the small “bridge” dome on top, but rather, inside the “head” section of the forward part of the ship.

Here is my character, Nyrva, standing in front of consoles I made for the bridge of my Antares ship. a science console on the left, and a standard operational console on the right. Some textures I got from other people, but I made the “control” textures myself. I also made the little “comm” boxes on the panels. Another friend made the screens with the “rounded” corners that I fixed to my consoles- the pictures actually change when you click on them. I also made the overhead screens shown in the picture.

I did a little improvising in the engineering area and made a sort of TOS-version of a “plasma” warp generator. I’m not sure if such a thing could have existed in the TV show era, so I suppose this is a little bit of a license I’m taking on my part.

Now outside the main bridge area, looking down towards the rear of the ship, and down the main corridor of the main deck.

In this shot I have my character standing on the main deck of the ship, with the camera angled down the turblolift shaft of the ship in the main body section. There are 6 decks in the main body. Plenty of space for a small group roleplay; maybe 10-14 people. But most groups are usually smaller anyways.

There’s a half-circle part on the aft section of the ship, so I just made this room in it. Not sure what should really go in here. I suppose anything technical for ship operations.

I decided to make the entire tail section “Engineering” related. So I built these walk-in cages for equipment, consoles, or other components, complete with walk-up ramps to get in and out.

Here is a full side view of my Antares ship. Much of the work is done, so this is probably 90% complete at this stage. The middle section, the upper portion is not exactly as the TV show, but I did not know how to cut the prims exactly to match the shapes. However since this is an RP ship I was more concerned with people being able to roleplay inside than making it look like an exact model. I hope at some point I can start learning programs like Blender so I can do better at rendering correct shapes for some of my builds; Particularly some of the more difficult shapes you find from shows like Star Trek.

Personal RP pursuits

Nyrva Dragonwood – Second Life edition of “She-elf’s quest failed” – Nyrva stripped and left drugged and naked by thieves in the forest. This is a Second Life version of my fantasy from this story idea.

Nyrva Dragonwood original drawing of “Quest Failed” – thugs who robbed, stripped her, and left her laying in the woods just shy of her entering the very ruins she came to see– the ruins that once belonged to her elven clan virtually destroyed in the great wars against the Dark Elves of her land. She now has the choice of continuing to venture on, or turning back home, several days journey on foot: either choice in nothing more than her birthday suit and whatever water, food, and shelter she can find along the way. I never fully decided if I was going to use this in the novel or not, and I never decided on the outcome other what her survival outcome would be. Plenty of details I would want to iron out for this part of the story if I did use it in the novel. But here is the concept art, and I did a few drawings based on this scene. I used a photograph of real woods I took at a park for this picture, so I own both the original artwork and the stock imagery.

A “aerial” view of the same scene with Nyrva laid out on the forest ground. She hasn’t yet awakened from the chloroform-like drug yet to discover her current set of circumstances. This would be my “Second Life” version of another drawing I did similar to this scene.

This is an overhead view drawing I did of Nyrva Dragonwood laid out in the forest, again after being drugged by thieves and stripped of all her clothing and provisions. Since Nyrva is one of the main characters of course I elected not to have her killed, but simply placed in this situation. And I’m not entirely decided if I will use this part or not depending on how well it comes out after I rewrite the scene and how it plays out. If I can make the circumstances and the outcome developed well enough to my liking and interesting enough to read. It can’t just be about a lone elf woman stripped and left for dead in the middle of the forest. There has to be some development to the scene and it has to flow with other parts of the story. I make no apologies about making her nude for the scene. It is simply a situation that happens to the character. But she is neither killed or raped, just drugged, stripped and left as you see her. The thieves simply see no purpose in killing her. Admittedly my drawing style could use quite a bit of refinement but I’ve always been a cartoonist, so that’s my drawing style.

Facial recognition fail!

I did an experiment with my iPhone with the picture of this woman and my Second Life version of Nyrva. My Apple iPhone actually thinks this woman (who is just some woman whose picture I found on the web – otherwise no relation whatsoever, just some naked woman off the internet) is the same as my Second Life version of “Nyrva”. It actually identifies her face as being the same person. It’s really kind of creepy in a way since I don’t know who this person is other than some nude woman off the web. And it just makes me think they have a lot of bugs to work out in these things before facial recognition is used for far more serious purposes, such as to identify people for law enforcement purposes. Either that or I can hire this woman to play my character if I were to need an actress to play “Nyrva” in a live action movie featuring the character.

Nyrva Dragonwood trapped in Dimension Zero – Second Life Edition – This was another story concept idea I had for Nyrva where she is captured by a dimensional guardian for her intrusion into the forbidden Valley of Mystics and she is imprisoned for a time in this strange dimensional universe, though not physically harmed. It’s occurring to me how some of my artistic concepts I’ve done in drawings can now be realized through the 3D model sandbox format of Second Life. It’s the same pose I used for my drawings in both the “elf quest failed” and “Dimension Zero”, so it’s the same pose and camera angle for these two pictures as well. Additionally I was able to find a foreboding checkerboard environment for “Dimension Zero” as well as build a forest scene for my other picture.

Original concept drawing: Nyrva Dragonwood in Dimension Zero – one of my original drawing concept ideas, this was the checkerboard world version. I’ve used this particular drawing of Nyrva for a few instances but I’ve also had a couple variations of “Dimension Zero” – which is really a sort of “null space” world that means nothing in the context of normal time and space. For all intents and purposes, Nyrva, though still alive, is kind of put into a world that technically doesn’t exist, that serves as a prison realm for her. The dimensional guardian that places her here uses this place as a non-lethal means of punishing those who violate the forbidden lands. Such persons are simply banished for a time to this “non-world” realm. (If that doesn’t totally make sense that’s OK. I’m not really sure it’s supposed to.) I own the stock imagery for this also since I created it in Photoshop along with the original artwork of my character.

Second Life – Nyrva Dragonwood’s Journey Home – this would be a Second Life version of Nyrva’s journey back home after losing all her money, clothes, provisions, and personal weapons to thugs while on the way to see the ruins that belonged to her people. She must now journey home relying on her best survival skills to stay alive under these conditions.

Nyrva Dragonwood heading home through the woods after her failed quest. She decided it would be better to head home adter being stripped of her clothes, money, and all her provisions. She knew it was dangerous no matter what she did, and that she was in a very vulnerable position either way – without her personal weapons for defense, all she has is her hand-to-hand fighting skills (of which she is decent, but clearly not a master against an ardent opponent) and her birthday suit for “armor”. She must now find whatever water, food and shelter she can along the way, even engaging in petty theft if she must when she can, to survive the 4 to 5 day trip on foot home. In this shot, I couldn’t tell you what she’s doing. Maybe her foot itches. The forest road isn’t exactly easy on bare feet. I own both the original artwork and stock imagery since I drew/created/shot both.

This was one drawing I did of my character, Nyrva Dragonwood, pregnant and I’ve shown it before. But I never could decide if I wanted her to be a mother or not, at least in the 2 novels I was planning to write that the character is one of the main characters of. If I did take this route it might be in a third story where she is not such a central character and she has moved on to a more “settled down” phase of her life where she had married and sought to raise a family or something, but I’m not sure I want to do this in her main story arc or not. I created and own both the character art and stock imagery for this picture. What I want to do with her in this case is still up in the air. But I leave my options open about what to do with my characters.

There was one idea I had toyed with briefly that involved having Nyrva Dragonwood kidnapped by some weird fertility cult to be used as breeding stock. The idea is that the cult uses Wood Elf females, breeds them against their will, and takes the elven babies from the mothers then and has them out for sale or trade on the black market. (I’ve actually read about stranger things that have happened in real life situations.) The only problem with this idea is that it is more dark and twisted than I really want to get with the story, and if there isn’t really any benefit to the rest of the story with respect to the character of Nyrva then there wouldn’t be any point in using it. But perhaps this might be material for some side book full of dark, twisted, side tales if I ever chose to do one. Still this kind of idea is still a bit creepy, even for me. But I drew this after reading of some really weird real life accounts even more bizarre than what I’ve just described as a possible story plot. But I’m not really into the idea of using women as chattel property, as kinky as this drawing might seem to some. (i.e. “tie me up and f**k me!” lol!) Once again, I created and own both the original artwork and original stock in this picture. I did not create a Second Life version of this fantasy, and… I’m fine with only the drawing.

As long as I mention the idea of dark and twisted side stories this is more an idea I would consider – I always had an idea for a side story involving vampires that wouldn’t impact the main story. I would simply write it in such a way to be an alternate story, or someone’s dream or something like that. But I thought it would be a fun idea to have some kind of Vampire Story with my characters. This was original artwork I did for the idea – Nyrva does not fare so well in this story, ends up being sucked dry by one of her own friends who falls prey to the infectious plague. Perhaps I may do a Second Life Machinima of this story as well if I get it written.

I did this drawing of Nyrva as a model pose for a possible figure I’d like to have made of her – just a figure of her casually laying nude on her stomach. I created and own both the artwork and stock imagery in this picture.

I have yet to do a Second Life fantasy of this one – just my classic “Nyrva Drinking Coffee” shot. This has always been one of my “poster girl” drawings of Nyrva.

Nyrva Dragonwood awakens in Dimension Zero. The dimensional guardian tells her why she is in this place and how long she will remain his prisoner. But she is promised to be provided for and to be returned to her world when her sentence is up.

Nyrva Dragonwood in the dojo practicing a little elven martial arts. She is not the most ardent fighter when it comes to hand-to-hand combat, yet, but she’s managing to learn her kicks.

Another shot of Nyrva practicing in the dojo. Only thing is I’m looking at the position of the kick and how the left foot twists. And I’m wondering if the left foot really twists that far the other way with such a kick and if the designer of this karate animation took this into account when they designed the animation? Hard to say.

Someone tell Oxhorn that the Panda Exterminator has been busted! He won’t be killing any more pandas!

Here is my original character, Nystasha, at a table with Nyrva, a few Pandaren, a Tauren, some games, cards, beer, and the stakes are high. Who will take home all the gold tonight? (In the background just some elven NPC).

Nyrva in the USS Milwaukee mess room. She can’t decide what kind of donut she wants from the donut replicator.

Nyrva at the bar on my ship, the USS Milwaukee. Yes, the K-7 bar was a must on my ship, so I built one. I changed the colors a bit but it’s the same bar that was on the original “Tribbles” episode. I also made the beer dispensers that I put on the bar. As a native of Milwaukee, Wisconsin I make one simple rule: No fooking “synthetic booze” on my ship!

These are the two beer dispensers I made for my ship, and just for general roleplay use, and they actually dispense little bottles of beer I made that correspond to the brands on the handles. I just put in fantasy versions of real beers that I like. I don’t sell these at all, I made this just for roleplay. I modeled the Hofbrau dispenser after an actual picture of one I saw on the web – though it’s not exact, I got it as close as I could for Second Life, so it’s probably 20% off from how the original looks.

Here is a shot from my TOS Star Trek RP group in Second Life. We recently did an RP at the SciFi Expo in Second Life benefitting Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society.

Another shot from earlier in the same RP session at the SciFi Expo RP we did.

Here Nyrva sits in the briefing room of my ship, the USS Milwaukee. I got the table from a friend, the chairs from another source, as well as the banners. But I built the table consoles as well as the consoles on the right and far walls. I either make stuff that looks like the original TV show, or looks like it could fit on the original TV show. There are many in Second Life who sell Trek-related stuff they make. I am not one of them. I only make stuff for personal use. And I give my stuff for free to friends or other roleplayers for personal use only and for roleplay.

World of Warcraft and Second Life?

My Pandaren rogue in Second Life? Or am I playing with WoW Model Viewer? I’ll never tell! But I thought this Fantasy airship in Second Life with the Asian theme would be a great setting for a “Pandaren” air or starship. I figure “Legion” has opened the door to Azeroth space travel with the silly space goats, and there’s all the “titan” tech sitting around so why not?

I think I might have to buy me this ship. Seeing my panda rogue in this scene almost sells me on the “Pandaren Starship” idea. I’ll have to think it over.

Here I have my original character Nyrva (Second Life version) with my rogue from World of Warcraft. But I’ll never say how I do these shots. That’s “privileged” information. But this was shot on a location in Second Life.

Nystasha – another original wood elf character of mine created and shown here in Second Life in the form of this digital model.

Star Trek TOS Lives in Second Life

I don’t need JJTrek, I don’t need Discovery! #NotMyTrek Not as long as I can do my own stuff in Second Life. These are two model ships I shot against a star field. I use this stuff only for personal use, and even build some of my own Star Trek stuff for personal use. I don’t sell it at all. Since you can’t look to CBS or Paramount and since I’m sure most people who watch those and play Star Trek Online think Chris Pine is the original Captain Kirk (and probably don’t know what William Shatner is famous for), I figure this is the best way to do it– play it on Second Life.

I’m also a huge fan of fan shows like Star Trek: New Voyages and Star Trek Continues. The Orville is also high on my list- even thought it’s not “Trek” by name, it still very much is like watch the old show- just as a sort of “TNG sequel” with a few dick jokes.

Second star to the right… and straight on until morning! (I didn’t have a better caption! This is just a cool Enterprise shot I made)

Nyrva Dragonwood wearing a TOS Star Trek-style uniform. This is aboard my roleplay ship, the USS Milwaukee – Archer Class, registry number NCC-005. The registry I used doesn’t necessarily follow the normal conventions of Star Trek registry numbers, but I took the registry number from the real US naval shop of the same name, but with the registry LCS-5 and simply adopted it for my ship. And I also thought it would be a nice salute to the men and women aboard that fine vessel.  My character Nyrva is also wearing phasers I made myself, in both an unscripted “wear-only” version and a scripted “weapon” version that can actually be used in roleplay combat. (For those not familiar with Second Life RP) I also made several of the consoles aboard this ship since it comes unfurnished. I got the captain’s chair from another person in SL who makes Trek-related items.

I recently made this machinima to explain how my character, Nyrva, was discovered by Starfleet in Second Life Star Trek RP. Even though for my novel there is no such thing, but since I use my character in RP, this is how I do crossover fan fiction with my own character.

Uh, oh! Someone killed a unicorn in Skyrim.

Playing World of Warcraft, on my monk I sit atop the Lucid Nightmare mount. A mount resembling a nightmarish-looking black void-kissed unicorn-like creature, obtained through a secret quest line with a series of elaborate puzzles, ending with a rather lengthy maze. But I beat it nonetheless. Here’s my character sitting on the mount! You might find a few clues to clear some of the puzzles along the way, and some of the puzzles even have toys like them that you can buy in the game, but nothing can truly prepare you for the maze since it is truly 100% random- even if you use the so-called add-on to help you map your way through it. And that is simply a matter of time to complete. I finished it in a little over 3 hours.

One of several clues leading to many puzzles along the way of the Lucid Nightmare quest. But if you haven’t done it yet, I’m not going to tell you where this is. You’ll have to find it yourself.

In the maze in the final stage of the Lucid Nightmare quest. Every room with 4 exits with at least 1 or 2 always blocked, an altar, and 2 stands, and your search is for 5 colored orbs to place on the 5 colored altars that correspond to find your way out. If you leave before you finish you have to start all over again, once you’re in you’re committed if you want this thing. I got it on the first try, albeit it took me over 3 hours. I was in it to win it. Go ahead, use an add-on if you like. Even doubling back the doors can completely change. They did for me a few times, even if you go back the exact same way. This place is truly random.

This was actually one of my favorite quest lines to do for the entire xpac of Legion to be honest. I hope we get another one in Battle for Azeroth. Another hidden quest for another hidden mount.

Undercity’s Last New Year

Last time ever for fireworks at Undercity – or for any kind of activities. Horde loses Undercity. Alliance loses a worthless level 1-20 zone nobody fooking uses.  If Alliance lost Ironforge then we’d be talking equal loses. The Horde player base is getting fooked out of their “Ironforge”.

I better get one last shot sitting on the throne in Undercity – where Arthas Menethil slew his father, Terenis Menethil II, and the bloodied crown fell to the floor that day. Note: It was an ALLIANCE prince who became the Lich King, not Horde. Sylvanas happened because of neglect by the Alliance, not the Horde! Just keep that in mind.

August 14, 2018 will see the launch of World of Warcraft: Battle of Azeroth. This new Alliance-centric xpac will see the loss of a level 20 leveling zone for Alliance players (Teldrassil/Darnassus) and a major hub for Horde players.

Blizzard Says: F**k the Horde!

The Alliance will gain control of Undercity, creating a new faction imbalance for major cities for the first time in WoW history. It also means the end of the Horde Zeppelins as the Zeppelin towers in the Undercity/Brill area will be destroyed. As of this day, 2-June-2018, Blizzard has not stated what will be replacing the Horde zeppelins or explained why they are being such dicks to the Horde fan base and so kiss-ass to Alliance players. It can only be assumed Horde players will no longer be able to take Zeppelins from Orgrimmar to the Undercity/Brill area to get to the Eastern Kingdoms. No such denial of access to Kalmidor has been created for the Alliance players in WoW by Blizzard. (As of this blog, Blizzard has had plenty of time to address this issue by publishing something that could have appeared on MMO-Champion, WoWhead or other fan sites by now, so up yours, Blizzard!)

We did 14 months of Siege of Orgrimmar to get rid of Garrosh Hellscream so we could have Vol’jin as Warchief, only so the troll devs at Blizzard who no longer seem to give a shit about the WoW Lore (because they’re now more concerned about fucking Overwatch and Hearthstone) could not use him hardly at all in Warlords of Draenor, then throw him under the bus at the beginning of Legion, and stick the Horde with a Warchief that is “Garrosh Hellscream meets the Lich King”. She will be causing good Horde leaders Varok Saurfang to leave the Horde in Battle for Azeroth, and it’s hard to foresee if a new Horde rebellion will rise so we can get rid of this Lich Queen for someone better, like Baine Bloodhoof or Gamon, for Warchief again.  And while I might seem critical of WoW and Blizzard I’m asking questions I hardly see anyone asking- a serious WTF moment.

In any case, fellow Horde, have one last look at Undercity before we lose it to the Alliance player base.

CBS Continues the Reboot Onslaught with “Discovery”

As if JJTrek wasn’t bad enough, and recent announcements that Quentin Tarantino is now being tapped to do the next Trek movie, (“Klingon, motherf**ker! Do you speak it!?”)  Vandalism of the once beloved franchise, now by CBS, continues (As if their lawsuits against Project Axanar and their neutering of Trek fan films wasn’t already a sorry insult as it is). Season one of “Discovery” has come and gone, and has not only been wrongfully called “Prime” timeline, but has redefined everything originally created by Gene Roddenberry, and visually suggesting everything from the 1960s TV show is not the correct representation of the franchise any longer. CBS redesigned the uniforms, the Klingons, the Captain Pike Era weaponry, and everything else that goes along with what Star Trek should be 10 years before Captain Kirk took the bridge for the original 5 year mission. Never mind that every ship of that era (prior to the Motion Picture years) was supposed to have their own ship badges, they went ahead and issued the “Enterprise” Arrowhead badge to the Discovery as well.

CBS Apparently doesn’t care about Trek canon, or the fact that each ship was supposed to have their own unique uniform emblem prior to the Motion Picture era. Only from that point forward did the iconic Enterprise arrowhead become the standardized symbol of Starfleet.

I guess if we have to have a “magic mushroom” drive in a Star Trek prequel series nobody in any series in the previous 50 years would ever have heard of, perhaps it’s time to start pulling rabbits out of our ass too. The plot devices of Discovery are nonsensical and idiotic at best.

The excuses of CBS to visually “reboot” Star Trek to how everything looks on “Discovery” for what is supposed to be 10 years before the original TV Series era of “how outdated” the original show looked is a bunch of malarkey. Visuals like this, of an original series Constitution Class ship in a dry dock orbiting planet Earth, serve as proof that it is possible to create the look and feel of the original TV show and still have a somewhat updated feel fit for today’s more modern audience. Most people who would watch Star Trek are not even in the demographic CBS is trying to attract anyway, as most Trek fans are 30s and up (This is also true of Star Wars fans which is why Disney is having the same problems with Star Wars fans presently). Most people under 30 of the so-called “Millennial” generation do not care about Star Trek other than for the “flavor of the day” moment. And I’m trying to imagine the outrage of Star Wars fans if Disney had updated the Millennium Falcon from the original appearance of the 1980s to fit a more “modern appearance” the way CBS has to the original Star Trek appearance and made the kind of drastic changed to the Millennium Falcon that CBS made to the Klingons where you can’t even tell what it’s supposed to be. But CBS would have been much better off to simply make a new series set in the late 24th or 25th Century, past all existing Trek canon, where arguments of this sort would not even be an issue.

The numbers don’t like. A lot of true Trek fans were not happy with this insult of a show. While we may not be in the majority per say, this is almost half. But let’s see if the next season is enough to get CBS to cancel this terd.

It’s best to sum up what CBS/Paramount can stop doing to Trek in one single meme.

By the way, getting back to Second Life Star Trek RP for a moment – it never ceases to amaze me – I’ve had at least 2 people in Second Life (who shall remain nameless here) whether a person playing a “furry” character who refused me membership in a Star Trek RP group for playing a “non-canon elf” (I don’t care about that particular issue anymore but there’s a point to bringing it up), or a human player who gave me flack over what kind of characters I play in a fan fiction Star Trek RP for “canon” and has some bone to pick with me for whatever reason. And yet, to those very same people who gave me flack over playing my character – I’ve found myself actually having to defend Star Trek TOS canon against reboots like Abrams and Discovery.

My purpose is not to call anyone out here, so I’m not naming or showing the players involved. It’s simply to make a point: I find the level of hypocrisy very interesting. I can’t have an “elf” character in a fan fiction RP situation (even though I base it off of “exploring strange new worlds” and “seeking out new life and new civilizations” and I even “Trek up” her back story for the RP – and I even made a machinima now that shows how she got “discovered” by Starfleet off-world personnel) but it’s OK for JJ Abrams and Discovery to completely shitcan original canon for their shitty reboots. I’m simply trying to add a race and character to the story, and in the unofficial 5th year of the Enterprise 5 year mission in a roleplay. Yet people who make up their own fleet names, their own ships, their own timelines, have a problem with this, but have no problem with the Abrams or Discovery reboots? Seriously, WTF?! At least I’m all about preserving original canon, maybe just taking a little license with it at best from a fan fiction standpoint. But not changing the whole damn thing.

On the other hand, take a show like The Orville, that is more upbeat, and looks like an unofficial sequel of “Star Trek: The Next Generation” with a few dick jokes in it- but it still has a lot of the same kind of stories and story telling, good character development, makes you care about the characters and the story? This so far appears to be a success despite what the critics say.

93% of fans liked The Orville against the critic score– contrast against 56% of fans who liked Discovery? It’s easy to see what the real Trekkies want in a “Trek” series.  And even though The Orville isn’t Trek by name, it has surely taken up the gauntlet of what Trek once was. Personally I’ll stick with The Orville, and practice “Safe Star Trekking” by avoiding “STD”.

If I had my way… But then maybe that would only kill the show?

Only bad news about The Orville so far involve some rumors of Alara Katan (played by Halston Sage) possibly being written or killed off the show in season 2 – which are yet unconfirmed either way (there are videos on YouTube from a few sources that discuss this possibility, and a new cast member that may be replacing her).

Also actually confirmed – The Orville season 2 launch date of December 30, 2018. Because fooking Fox is going to make us sci-fi fans wait until the stupid jocks finish football season. (Fuck football! None of them know how to respect the American National Anthem by STANDING and they piss on our flag anymore anyways, and they have the nerve to profit in America and call it the National Football League, but that’s another story! So fuck the NFL, cancel that shit, and give us The Orville, Fox!)

CBS is not the only one on a mission to destroy a long-time classic franchise. Disney and Lucasfilm are doing their best to compete with them by dragging another well-known popular franchise right down the toilet as well. With a thinly-veiled remake of the original Star Wars Episode IV marketed as a “sequel” in form of “Episode VII: The Force Engorges”, to the Mary Sue know-it-all known as “Rey” and the emasculation and killing off of Luke Skywalker in “The Last Jedi”, not to mention that flying nun “Mary Poppins” scene with Princess Leia when direct exposure to space would be nothing short of a guaranteed death sentence… Everything Disney has done with Star Wars thus far has been a complete insult to the fans who grew up and loved the originals, and have been waiting over 30 years for more. Kathleen Kennedy has been cited in a number of fan videos and articles as insulting many of these fans, along with JJ Abrams – the same hack who rebooted and screwed up Star Trek and sent that down a path it will now never recover from.

One thing is clear to me — JJ Abrams is a hack on an apparent mission to destroy at any cost, classic sci-fi for his own libtard SJW soy boy agenda. He cares more about his social justice warrior bullshit than he does about canon, developing good characters, or telling or staying true to a story. It also seems clear to me that CBS, Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, and Rian Johnson with both Trek and Star Wars have been all on the same mission and warpath. Enabled by soy-guzzling pansies who think using these entertainment mediums to push their SJW nonsense is cool, while the real fans shake their heads, facepalm, and can only helplessly sit back and watch the train wreck.

Despite paid critics and apparent Disney shills praising the movie to the rafters, it was clear what real fans thought of The Last Jedi. At my last look, this score was down now into the 40% ranges. People do not like this trash sack of a movie despite all the excuses Kathleen Kennedy, Rian JohnsonJJ Abrams, and the number of media shills have thrown out to defend it. That includes fans being called all sorts of names by these people who don’t like poorly developed characters like the Mary Sue they called “Rey”, or Admiral “Gender Studies Giraffe Neck” Holdo, or the fact we waited 30 years for more Luke Skywalker only to see him reduced to an emasculated alien tit-sucking whiney nutjob and then they killed him off, or that goofy Mary Poppins Leia scene. What about waiting to find out who “Snoke” is only to have him just killed off? The Rebel Alliance virtually wiped out by the end of the movie because of poor “empowered” feminist leadership? (yeah, put everyone in unprotected transports and let the new Neo Empire pick them off one by one! Great strategy Admiral Gender Studies!)

And no, this was not an issue of the leaders being female. There are plenty of great movies with female characters. Princess Leia up until this movie was always my fave (this movie they bastardized her like all the other characters). I loved “Wonder Woman” (to name another example). I’m writing a story with a female character – my elf “Nyrva” is one of the primary characters and a female, so I have no problem with female characters or even female characters being empowered. This was a badly-written movie, with shitty characters and a totally shitty execution of story and plot, little detail to canon and continuity, period! All the way around. What about Han, Luke and Leia all dead with Carrie Fisher now really dead, with no chance now of ever having an on-screen reunion with our favorite space trio, and the only supporting characters there will be in Episode IX are “Mary Sue”, Finn, and Darth Emo? Seriously?! We’re in for quite a conclusion to what was once an epic saga. Even Jar Jar Binks wasn’t as bad as how they finished Episode VIII and the train wreck of a movie IX sounds like it’s going to be.

So here we are, Lucasfilm says “Let the past die” through Kylo Ren in Episode VIII and they killed off Han Solo. And yet we now have a movie solely about him as a stand alone. Who cares about his origin story now? He’s dead. And frankly, we have the REAL Han Solo on the left, with Harrison Ford as bad ass as ever, and this newfag soy boy wanna be, little whipped dog on the right, with his gun airbrushed out by the studio to appeal to the anti-gun crowd– politics wins again, and art loses.

We also have to be worried now about Lando’s sexuality, as they announced he was “pansexual”. I guess he screws pots and pans? (WTF is a “pansexual” anyways? seriously!) I am straight-I am unapologetically straight, and I frankly don’t give two shits what people like to screw behind closed doors – how people live in private is their own business to me. Especially if it doesn’t do anything to enhance the plot of a story. And you know there is a way to suggest a character is gay or straight or whatever without making it a big deal. We don’t need big press to announce that a character who’s sexuality didn’t matter 30+ years ago, suddenly matters now. Nobody gives a shit and I’m willing to bet that even LGBTs don’t care either. Most people I know in those circles just want to be accepted as human beings and not be mistreated because of how they live. And like other straight people, they too are more interested in what Han Solo or Lando’s places are in reference to the rest of the Star Wars universe. I doubt they give two shits who they like to screw if it has nothing to do with enhancing the plot of the story.

But now the media and the SJW libtards are all involved in cramming this shit down everyone’s throat and calling anyone who doesn’t go along with it a “racist” or “bigot”.

Here were the initial RT scores for the Soylo movie as of May 28, 2018.

The Shills Strike Back

Shills for Lucasfilm have no doubt been hard at work since May 28, 2018 to bring the score for this shitsack of a movie up a whole 10 points to make it look more favorable than it really is, despite this movie opening with worse numbers than any other Star Wars movie in history- and that’s even with the original trilogy with numbers adjusted for inflation.

Lord and Miller were fired by Kathleen Kennedy and Soylo was reshot at an awful expense, let’s see how much over their additional expenses this thing grosses, and how much they throw Ron Howard under the bus if this flops. Meanwhile this meme explains what Lucasfilm can go do with this piece of SJW trash movie with their cheaply-named L3-37 feminazi rights L337$p34k name droid. Until they fire Kathleen Kennedy and stop inserting politics into what’s supposed to be a temporary escape from real life for 2 hours (hence why it’s called “entertainment”) it’s time to dump this franchise.

Spore drive? You want a spore drive? Here’s a fooking spore drive! Giant Super Mario mushroom included! Enjoy!

DOKKEN WITH FREDDY KRUEGER, SESSION, 1987, NEIL ZLOZOWER

Here’s a blast from the past, a classic shot of Robert Englund as Freddy Kruger with the band Dokken, on the set of “A Nightmare on Elm Street 3: Dream Warriors” – still one of my all time favorite slasher films from the 80s, and “Dream Warriors”, one of my favorite videos for a related theme.

“Maybe tonight you’ll be gone! Dream Warriors”

Robert Englund as Freddy Kruger. Still one of the best on-screen slashers of all time, and the best personas in a horror movie.

World of Warcraft – The Windrunner sisters: Vareesa, Sylvanas, and Alleria Windrunner.

And that’s all we have for today. Thank you for checking out my blog for today. I hope to start doing these again a bit more often instead of every few months, especially since I pay to keep up my website, right?

And I felt it would be good to close out with the National Anthem. The NFL doesn’t respect it, but I do. I respect our flag, our country, our troops, our Constitution, even if I don’t agree with our politicians. Our men and women in uniform fight for our freedoms laid out for our constitutions and it’s what makes it possible to have free expression. It’s not something to take lightly or easily dismiss. #GodblesstheUSA #SupportOurTroops #StarsandStripesForever #FirstAmendment

And for those of us who still do respect our country (unlike anyone at the NFL) the American National Anthem.

God bless the USA. Support our Troops.

Whatever I feel like talking about, games, fantasy, random rants, or whatever…

Playing through Skyrim again, building my house, Lakeview Manor, near Falkreath. But hell, everyone playing Skyrim has this house. lol!

Yo! Blizzard Entertainment! You guys just never got it. A lot of us didn’t want those stupid garrisons you stuck us with in Warlords of Draenor. We didn’t want something tied to game progression either on or offline. We just wanted a player house. Something we could customize and have for our own, to kick it. Not have it tied to our whole darn progression you doofuses.

Skyrim is a bit cookie cutter, but that’s the thing at least the game can be modded, so that people can add or change things they don’t like. I wish more games would follow this kind of sandbox model and allow players to make the game, or at least certain aspects of it, their own.

Once you add all the stuff in it you’re all set to go, you can even hire a bard and a house maid. It begs the question why the devs at Blizzard are too arrogant to put in a proper player house- not the garrisons like they did, but the kind of player houses people get in every game besides WoW. I just think it would be cool to have a place for your character to “kick it” and have a lot of their stuff there- and without it being a damn garrison like in Warlords.

Meanwhile, latency issues, disconnections, DDoS and screens like this are becoming almost a norm on World of Warcraft lately in recent months, hence, this meme of “The New Normal” for World of Warcraft. And how does Blizzard “Customer Service” (@BlizzardCS) handle it on Twitter? They just send you here. This is why the problem never gets better, because Blizzard simply “handles” it always dishing out that same “canned answer” to everyone like their paid automatons are trained to do.

“By the power of Greyskull!” Oh, wait, wrong universe! lol! Getting an upgrade on my artifact weapons on my monk.

Luckily I don’t deal with any of those issues on Skyrim. WoW and Second Life represent pretty much my only two online gaming/MMO/social gaming experiences anymore. I’m just not big on online stuff- too many trolls, too much online drama. I like games I can just put on my computer or a console and just enjoy for myself where I don’t have to care what anyone thinks about it. What about the “social aspect”? I’m oldschool, I see my friends IRL. I don’t need the drama, life’s too short. I got my website, I can post a blog if I feel like it, and if people read it, great, and if they don’t, who cares? I’d rather have 2 people read it that appreciate what I have to say than 500 trolls that don’t. A lot of the internet is just a troll trove and a sewer anymore so who cares.

Outside of the gaming for LEISURE, you just gotta get out and see the real world, live IRL. I love this meme- this says it all. I quit raiding. I am no longer going to raid in World of Warcraft for example other than playing “LFR Hero” just to see the cinematics and the bosses, etc. enough to satify my curiosities. But I’m not going to raid hours and hours a week anymore. I don’t play half as much as I used to. I do a lot more websurfing these days than I do stuff on it. I guess I just don’t care to participate in a lot of online venues anymore other than just looking around at things of interest. But I will still post my blogs here when I feel like it. I have no set schedule for this. It’s just whenever I feel like writing something I guess.

Meanwhile CBS/Paramount is getting ready to unleash another piece of shit Star Trek reboot on us in the form of Star Hack Discovery coming up this fall. I swear CBS can take a pile of shit and slap the “Star Trek” label on it and some people will accept whatever they dish out. It was like in Anime and music circles years ago, when I used to denote distinguishing fans who were selective and knew how to find the good stuff on their own vs those who just accepted anything they were handed. I call the latter group “dupes” because they’re too damn stupid to think for themselves. I always respected those who didn’t just accept anything they were given, always did their own thinking, and were more discriminating about what they accept from these media companies. I care what true Trekkies think- those who liked the Original Star Trek, maybe TNG, DS9, Voyager, but knew when to stop at Enterprise, Abrams, and now this crap. I have to wonder about people who just blindly accept the Abrams timeline changes and this new reboot. They either claim to be “Trek” fans and have no loyalty to the original, or are NuTrek fans who want to say they are fans of this stuff but don’t know dick about anything before Abrams came along. I don’t care what any of those people think honestly.

So CBS thinks this is a pre-Pike era ship? Hardly looks like it. The visuals for this piece of shit show hardly look like anything I saw on the episode “The Cage” from the 1960s. And not just because of 1960s props- there are fan shows that take painstaking efforts to duplicate that style- no reason a studio can’t do it, maybe with a little updating perhaps.

WTF is this supposed to be? A pizza cutter? A bottle opener? What the hell kind of drugs was someone on when they made up this ship design anyways? Why are there cuts in the saucer section? Do they serve a purpose? This just looks like another piece of shit Jar Jar Abrams-inspired poor excuse of a spaceship, and not something worth tuning in for.

This is a “Klingon” now. You guys who have been dressing up like Klingons since 1980 have been doing it wrong, you need to do it like this now, and throw out the dreadlock wigs. This is now what a Klingon looks like according to the new CBS shit show. CBS owns the rights, so I guess that gives them the right to change how everything looks. So somehow a Klingon is supposed to magically go from this to how they looked in the original TV series in 10 years? I could buy this series if they would just come out and admit it was a reboot and it was 10 years prior to the events of the Abrams movies. This looks nothing whatsoever like the “Prime Timeline” Star Trek at all. Not the ships, not the Klingons, not the band uniforms the crew is wearing, none of it.

Funny how the new Discovery “Klingons” more closely resemble this cosplayer from Galaxy Quest than they do Klingons from Star Trek. Like WTF again?! And people will, and have said to me “Well you haven’t seen the show yet, how do you know how it’s going to be?” – because I don’t like the visuals so far, so no I’m not going to want to watch it. Ever heard of “first impressions”?

Let’s review– The guy on the left is an original TV series Klingon. the guy in the middle represents the way Klingons pretty much looked from the first motion picture all the way through DS9, Voyager, etc. etc. even though those Klingons went through slight variation, the general appearance was similar; ridges on the foreheads, samurai beards, long hair/dreadlocks, etc. The only difference between the TOS Klingons and the guy in the middle outside of the uniforms, is the ridges on the foreheads and the big dreadlock wigs. Otherwise they both have shaded skin, samurai beards, the eyebrows, etc. Now on the right, they expect us to completely dismiss the last 50 years of how Klingons look and accept this new shit look they have. The guy on the right has no hair, and has a smashed-in, stretched face. Like WTF? Did he headbutt a freaking wall 50 times?

All I can say to CBS and Paramount at this point is “F**k you!” They put out the crappy Abrams movies where they wiped out the original Trek timeline just so they could completely erase the previous 40-45 years of Star Trek, say that all of the original series, TNG, Voyager, and DS9 no longer counts as “canon” so they could write new canon and say “this is Star Trek now” and you’re expected to discard all your old Trek for the new crap. That is what a reboot does- it says “the old story is no longer canon, this is the story now”. That’s why the comic books keep restarting with issue 1, that’s why they keep rebooting movie franchises, to do away with the original stories, wipe the slate clean and start new. You’re expected to forget what the original story was. It’s like literary Orwellianism at its finest. So CBS and Paramount, instead of trying to make this right with the new series, just goes right ahead with a new reboot while lying through their teeth and claiming “Oh, this is Prime Timeline” – bullshit it is, meanwhile they’re suing people doing fan films who are doing way better stuff then CBS or Paramount could ever do. CBS and Paramount can take all their post-2009 so-called Star Trek TV-and movies and shove them up their ass, along with their “fan movie rules” too. If I make original characters or stories, they are mine, whether they are my own original works or whether I cross them with a Star Trek fan fiction. It doesn’t make me own anything that directly references Star Trek, but f**k you CBS, I still own my original content in the form of other characters or other works. You guys can eat shit on those fan rules of yours.

Here! These are Klingons from the original TV Series Star Trek- the ORIGINAL Star Trek, the ORIGINAL Klingons- the ones which all other Klingons were based off of. Screw that crap from Discovery!

How about some Klingons from the Next Generation Star Trek? These are cool Klingons too! Qa’pla! I’ll even take these guys! At least they aren’t the depature from Klingon appearance that Discovery is.

Here is a Classic Klingon battle cruiser. I dread to see what they come up with in Discovery.

This is the “Prelude to Axanar” – a short fan video which is very top notch that proves it is possible to have a quality Trek production, use traditional Star Trek imagery, characters, and ideas, and look current to today’s video standards. This video, if I didn’t know better, looks almost official to me. But CBS just decided to sue this out of production and do the Discovery reboot. Fuck CBS!

Another great series with a tragically short run is Star Trek Continues, which is going to end now with the 11th episode, as a result of the Axanar lawsuit. And now no new Star Trek fan video can be longer than 15 minutes and there’s a whole list of rules to make sure all new Trek fan films completely suck and are devoid of any true creativity or expression so that CBS can try to force everyone to accept their shitty reboot crap. They can keep it.

It isn’t Discovery I’ll be watching this fall, like many other tried and true loyal Trek fans not happy about CBS/Paramount screwing with Trek’s otherwise longstanding lore, I will be checking out The Orville. This is the big competition that seems to be drawing many Trek fans away from Discovery. Like the movie Galaxy Quest, The Orville is a Star Trek-like parody that in this case, is more like Star Trek than anything Jar Jar Abrams has done or that CBS is planning to put out in the form of Discovery. If nothing else this show almost looks like a “Star Trek: The Next Generation” parody offshoot. But that’s the thing, we’re stuck now in doing reboots and prequels with Star Trek, instead of taking the story from Star Trek: Nemesis and continuing forward- what happens 10 years later? 20? What about 50 years later? Why can’t we see a new show that happens years after Nemesis that shows us the direction things have gone since then? But that’s not what CBS wants to do. Like many studios now, it’s no longer about creativity or originality, it’s only about the quick buck. So it’s going to be shows like this that draw fans now. Or else we’ll have to look to fan films, independent and underground releases, or if you’re like me, you pretty much abandon television and most movies and find other ways to entertain yourself; writing, drawing, or any other creative hobbies that pass the time.

Moving right along…

I can’t do anything about CBS and Paramount screwing up Star Trek in movies and TV but at least I know places I can have my own Trek stuff that looks like it’s supposed to. ‘Nuff said! I built the navigator console and the consoles in the wall slots shown in the picture. I got the chairs, ship and screens from other sources.

I did build my own replica of the K-7 bar from the “Tribbles” episode for my ship though. I just changed the color of the wall behind the shelves from red to blue and the color of the bar from orange to Navy Blue, but otherwise I got it as close to the K-7 bar as I could. They also had an odd-looking contraption above the food hatch, but I put a console there. I did build the other console on the wall behind it- it was an odd shape to work with for texturing, that’s for sure.

My engineering room. I built the upper deck. And aside from the blue “warp plasma” inside the tube above, the 2 consoles on the far right wall and the 2 flat panels on the left side wall, I built everything else shown.

More consoles I built. The middle panels on the left console, and the middle and right set of lights on the right standalone console have animated lights. I build these for my personal use and do not sell anything I build and the only people who get copies are people who know me personally. So I don’t believe I’m violating any “fan rules”. But I don’t really give a shit about those since I’m not selling my Trek builds. And if it comes down to it a lot of my builds (though not all) can be recolored, re-textured, and re-purposed into “generic sci-fi” consoles so then it’s not “Trek”.

In my sick bay– a medical scanner I built. Also some tall “medical jars” of some kind I made in the background. The medical scanner has a Photoshop-textured panel I created, plus some actual switches and lights I made on it. It’s all just props for RP purposes but that’s the point. This was like a scanner that already exists in Second Life but it was too “Next Generation Star Trek”-looking. So I rebuilt my own that is similar to it and put original series Star Trek-style graphics, switches, and lights on it.

How about a fantasy scene I built for my rezzable holodeck? I bought a lot of this stuff but I do make a few of my own props. I the foreground is a “strategy table” I made. The mug is not my own however, is from another source. And I used a Skyrim map since I don’t have a substitute right now and I didn’t care to use a map of Gor like so many in Second Life do. (I never even heard of Gor/Gorean until I joined and don’t care about it because you can’t use any races other than human and to me that defeats the point of fantasy). I have made my own gold coins also with Skyrim Septim textures. I hope to make my own textures for gold coins also so I am not using a licensed property. But it also fun to build small fantasy scenes I can put into my holodeck rezzer and use at will.

This is the outside of an Elven Brewpub I made in the same scene. The gold brew tank in the middle is one I made. I did not make the larger one on the left or the large barrel on the right. But altogether it looks like this place brews some serious house brew. For RP purposes that’s the idea.

If you misbehave here you get the pillory and the jail. I also added posted “Dark Brotherhood” related imagery from Skyrim just for kicks.

The posting on the left is of course the note the Dark Brotherhood sends you in Skyrim for the “Innocence Lost” quest. On the right is a “response” note I made because I always kill Astrid then go wipe out the rest of the Dark Brotherhood in Skyrim.

My answer to the Dark Brotherhood every time! Death!

Wardrobe Malfunction Detected! Looking up this skirt from a low angle we don’t see panties. Nyrva stands, legs spread, letting her “unmentionables” show.

ROLEPLAY SCENES AND POSSIBILITIES IN SECOND LIFE

Here we have a another rezzable roleplay setting I built for my holodeck which is supposed to be Nyrva’s family’s house (the house she was born and raised in, and the heiress thereof by her late parents) on her Elven homeworld in Second Life. She sits at her desk writing a letter on a scroll of parchment with a feather pen and ink.

Here’s another shot of Nyrva sitting at her desk writing a letter at home.

Sometimes I don’t always know how to caption the screenshots based on the animations from the characters and the props. I guess Nyrva is glancing over her document here and proofreading? who knows. After all they don’t have spell-checkers. lol!

Nyrva is deep in thought of what to say next in her letter? Or is it how to spell a word?

A view of Nyrva writing from the front angle, also showing her background with all her books, her scrolls and ink in the foreground and a pouch of her money on the desk.

A shot under Nyrva’s desk for a gratuitous shot here. I do this just for fun, she’s a frigging video game sprite at the end of the day.

Nyrva out in her yard after dark. Don’t ask me the light source. She stands amidst a campfire setup she has in her yard and also near a fountain with a gargoyle statue and a small house that serves as her kitchen and dining hall. In the background is her family’s brew tanks, since elves brew their own. Roleplay possibilities are endless in a simulation world like Second Life.

Nyrva working at the local Elven brewhaus as a bar wench, dress and all. She holds a beer stein I made myself, full mesh. Also coins on the counter I made and put in the scene. I used textures from Skyrim for the coins until I make my own original coin textures.

I also did this shot of Nyrva holding a bottle of one of my favorite German beers. I love Hoffbrau, Spaten, Hacker-Pschorr- good stuff! I made a mesh bottle I can slap a few different beer labels on and in this case, Hoffbrau Oktoberfest.

And we have Nyrva outside in her bar wench dress, checking the brew tanks of the Elven Brewhaus- the beer has to keep flowing for the customers, you know!

Too exhausted to travel back home that night after a long day at work, Nyrva takes one of the beds in the Elven Brewhaus since no customers booked that room for the evening.

It’s too hot outside, and no air conditioning, so Nyrva takes it all off and sleeps in the nude in the Elven Brewhaus.

Still too hot to sleep, Nyrva sits up for awhile in the bed of the brewhaus.

A photo I snuck on a mature sim – Nyrva sitting nude on a toilet in a women’s bathroom on Second Life. I guess we now know what it looks like for a naked elf woman to sit on a toilet. lol!

If nude on the toilet isn’t enough, how about going to a so-called “Fantasy Faire” – barely anyone else was there, so I stripped Nyrva and got a few pictures.

Here’s another shot of the nude Nyrva at the so-called Fantasy Faire.

One more nude shot of Nyrva in this setting before we move on…

How about Insilico? A dead site. Nobody is ever there. One wonders how it stays open, despite looking cool, like it’s inspired by Blade Runner or something. Since nobody was around I took a few shots of Nyrva in the buff. I just think it’s fun to do. (Some people get into full BDSM and sex stuff with their toons, I just mostly take nudie pictures!)

From the same “Fantasy Faire” I shot the nude pictures of Nyrva at. What the hell do you call this shit? Nothing “Fantasy” about this. But I play an Elf in Star Trek so touche’ – but anyone wants to bitch at me about playing an elf in Star Trek sims should bitch at these guys from bringing this shit to a Fantasy sim. Make no mistake, I do like to mix sci-fi and fantasy, but this looks like a modern present day setting that got nuked or war torn or something, it doesn’t necessarily fit either one. Meh, go figure.

Another shot of this city scene. This looks more like a discombobulated Grand Theft Auto or Fallout 4 scene or something. I’m trying to picture how else this fits into either sci-fi or fantasy. Oh, well.

Poor Nyrva, she finds herself hopelessly locked in a cage. Is someone going to rescue her?

Speaking of mixing sci-fi and fantasy, I’ve been trying to get one of these soda machines in Second Life for months. I have seen this machine at Insilico and one other place only and they are otherwise impossible to find. And I can’t get the maker/seller to respond to me to sell me one. I do have a couple of the soda cans. I love the girl used for the picture, the Asian-looking girl as the “space elf” whipping the finger with the can of root beer in her hand. I guess putting my Wood Elf in a Star Trek sim by definition makes her a “space elf” so I am essentially playing one.

Kind of a general nude pose of Nyrva sitting at a friend’s place in a mainland sim area. My friend was building his own sci-fi ship in the background- not related to any branded sci-fi, which I can respect. At least it would be truly his own. (the colors are for establishing mesh faces)

A gratuitous nude shot of Nyrva laying out. She lays naked in an undisclosed location.

Sometimes I just do gratuitous nudes for no reason. Another shot of Nyrva laying nude.

I figured to show one more naughty shot from this set before moving on…. Nyrva again, lying nude in an undisclosed location. (I just say undisclosed location- it’s nowhere special, not important, who cares? etc.)

Nyrva sitting in ruins at a mainland location I held until recently (that I now have up for sale as of this posting.)

Another angle of Nyrva sitting nude in the ruins, just taking in the fresh air. Wood Elves are people of nature I guess?

Nyrva on location at the Darkwood Castle sim. I go here and poke around once in a while. I don’t really play here, I like fantasy but I’m not into BDSM stuff either IRL or in video games.

I have Nyrva here posed with two of my characters from World of Warcraft in Second Life. I figure if I ever quit WoW I can still play with my monk and rogue in SL as characters there.

Another shot of Nyrva posed with my monk and rogue from World of Warcraft.

In this shot Nyrva stands nude with the monk and rogue for the shot.

Nyrva stands nude as she continues to pose with my monk and rogue from World of Warcraft… (The pandas have no interest in the elf that way, they are just her friend I guess if you want to ask “that” question! lol! Nyrva is simply a character that is posed nude for pictures, put simply.)

Here we are back at the Fantasy Faire from earlier in the blog, Nyrva isn’t nude this time- wearing her best Wood Elf outfit.

I never could decide if I wanted Nyrva to be a mother or not in my fiction. I got her this pregnant belly in Second Life for some shoots of course for conceptual depictions of the idea. But I never decided what I wanted her fate to be in my novel- motherhood, marriage, death- a lot of that is still up in the air. Nevertheless, here she stands in this picture, nude and knocked-up.

This was original character art I did of Nyrva pregnant. Again, I could never decide what I wanted her ultimate fate to be, whether I wanted this for her or not. Since Wood Elves are a dying race in my story, it would be important for someone like Nyrva, especially as a female, to have a child with a male Wood Elf to help preserve the race. But it’s still undecided what I want to do with this character in my fiction I’ve been writing about her over the years. There’s still some back story I need to develop as well which has changed over time as I have developed the character. In any case- here is an original drawing by me of the pregnant, nude, Nyrva.

Nyrva of the tribe of Dragonwood. A female Wood Elf. She was an original character I created in 1997 and I also create original art of her. It has been awhile since I have attempted to update her appearance, I would like to work on doing so to make her a bit less “anime” looking when I get some time. Or at least have a version of her that is non-Anime, along side the “anime” depiction of her. I suppose that’s what I do with Second Life and Skyrim- imagining the character in more realistic and life-like forms with the virtual formats. But Nyrva is my own original character I created for my own fictional writing efforts and I have used her in game play along the way. Here she stands gazing towards the sky. But in this picture I attempted to make a background with stones, fake grass and sticks- I’m not sure it turned out like I wanted. I suck at drawing landscapes and I didn’t want to use someone else’s work- give me credit for being honest about it anyways.

This is one of my male alts in Second Life dressed in his “special agent/MiB” suit where I have him next to a Polybius machine at a virtual arcade in Second Life. The depiction is to play on a popular urban legend from 1981 in Portland Oregon about this alleged game, not confirmed to actually have existed (but sometimes you wonder.) I decided to have fun with my alt when I saw this machine.

MORE TO COME…

It’s been awhile since I posted a blog, and I actually have a lot more stuff to share but I must close this one due to the length already. I may attempt to write shorter blogs more often with more goodies and stuff about my hobbies or whatever I feel like posting, hopefully less bitching about what I don’t like. But I wanted to say something about the new Star Trek because I’m tired of these studios butchering stuff I like.

I will close this blog for now and begin work on the next blog, hopefully post it soon with more pics and stuff to talk about. Until then… God bless!

See ya!

Just Stuff…. 24-Feb-2017

Just Stuff

24-Feb-2017

Talking about whatever I feel like talking about in games, sims or whatever…

Some content may be offensive to some readers or NSFW! proceed at your own risk! You have been warned! All nude images taken in Second Life were either done so at Second Life Adult or Moderate sites where nudity is allowed (or else can be easily gotten away with.)

The Dark Lady, Sylvanas Windrunner, but she’s not in World of Warcraft in this scene, she’s in a dark foreboding town in Second Life in this shot.

And here in Skyrim, I have Sylvanas Windrunner as my follower courtesy of a mod, of course.

An appropriate Skyrim poster hangs on the wall of my residence in Second Life at my prop “gaming station”. Ironic since I do use a lot of mods in Skyrim.

This third week of February 2017 has been my week of achievements- I finally got my Warglaives of Azzinoth on my Demon Hunter, who now, like my monk and rogue, also possess these cool legendary weapons from Illidan Stormrage and the Black Temple. Ironic in this case since Illidan is supposed to be the “big boss” of the Demon Hunters in WoW.

If getting my Warglaives of Azzinoth on my third toon wasn’t enough this week, getting level cap of 110 on my second toon, specifically my Outlaw Rogue, Yakusa, in Legion this week was a great achievement today. I’ve been slow this xpac, but I also had a 2 1/2 month absence from WoW due to medical reasons from October to December. So now I’m playing “catch up” with my characters and my game.

And I just gotta say it- I wish I could kill these stupid-ass Disney Alliance fruitcake pansy nature freaks in WoW. I won’t be questing in this zone on any more toons this xpac!

So fine, I took it out on a bunch of their stupid wanna-be pansy-ass “unicorns”.

I’d rather this be that stupid half-fawn centuarette.

Meanwhile… my gamer’s fantasy haven in Second Life– my personal residence, the downstairs is of course, a bar.

I just wish I could have a REAL Tron arcade machine like this instead of a Second Life prop. I remember those machines and when I used to pump quarters into those by the ton. So here sits this virtual model of one in my virtual bar.

On the other side of the bar area is a seating area, Skyrim and Horde posters, an axe on the wall… perfect for a fantasy and gaming nerd like me.

This was such a bad ass shot of a dragon in Skyrim that I had to shoot a screenshot of it and post it here.

Of course, after killing that dragon, my Dovahkiin, Nyrva, absorbs his power.

“Jaina Proudmore is a Dreadlord”

Searching for this on Google I found this cool image conception of a Fel-Corrupted Jaina Proudmore.

Confirmed: Jaina Proudmore is a Dreadlord!

Maybe she isn’t but considering the turn things have taken with her in the Legion expansion it’s possible she could join the Legion against the Horde and Alliance or just completely flip out.

Of course, as shown here, there is always the possibility that Jaina Proudmore is really the Dread Pirate Roberts instead!

This is the Skyrim version of my character Nyrva, donning Forsworn armor. I would very much love to find a way to somehow recreate this avatar for import into Second Life just to have my “Dovahkiin” version of Nyrva in there. However, since she’s made up entirely from mods and isn’t created unless the game is live I’m not sure how one would do this.

This prop made by a Second Life user features coins, a coin purse, and wine bottles from Skyrim. When I asked about it (out of interest of how to get this stuff imported into Second Life) they became offended, evasive and defensive. I guess I can look to no help from them, huh?

I wasn’t sure the above prop was from Skyrim until I zoomed in on the coins, and sure enough.

I decided to take a shot at making my own replicas of the Gold Septims from Skyrim in Second Life. While not perfect they aren’t too bad if I do say so myself.

Gold Septim coins in Skyrim. I’m always looting these.

I have the Gold Septims on the counter of the bar at my residence in Second Life.

Being the hobbyist I am, this is my original artwork of my own original character, Nyrva Dragonwood, where the young Wood Elf woman is depicted as being nude and pregnant. I haven’t yet decided if she gets pregnant in the novel I am writing that has her in it, that’s still in the air. But I have done conceptual artwork of her pregnant nonetheless. I did this in pencil then scanned into my computer and colored in Photoshop. The background is original stock photography shot by me.

And here is my Second Life avatar version of Nyrva depicted as a pregant Wood Elf . Why? Do I need to explain myself? I figure to explore all possibilities of this character’s life in the form of role play, but it’s just for personal entertainment, and also it helps me with my creative fiction ideas. I suppose in this case it’s creating a 3D virtual version of what I have created in art form.

Here is my own artwork of my original Wood Elf character Nyrva Dragonwood, sitting naked on a log in the forest. As always I drew her with pencil and colored in Photoshop. And the background is original stock I phototgraphed and own. Nyrva is a character I created in 1998 and actually have copyrights on, so anything I do with her on this site is either part of that or a derivative work.

Nyrva Dragonwood is captured by a fertility cult, forcing her into unwanted ritual sex for the purpose of breeding her against her will. The idea is that the cult has captured Nyrva and intends to use her as “breeding stock”, and to force her to reproduce and bear a child. For what purpose the child would be used for of course would not be known. But the major problem is that it’s a group of Forest Elves who have captured this young Wood Elf and intend to breed her against her will. (Forest Elves and Wood Elves are usually friendly with each other – and are essentially “cousin” races.) It is not decided if this will be used in the story or not and if so to what degree, but this is concept art for the idea. Other variations of this drawing, including a fertility cult member forcing himself on Nyrva have been done. I’ve used face crops of this drawing for a profile pic which is why in close ups of that pic she doesn’t exactly look happy. But I just like the detail of color on her face in the picture crop which is why I use it.

Here is a crop of Nyrva’s face from the same drawing. I feel like it makes a great face icon image of her despite her expression so that’s why I’ve used it. But most people don’t know (unless they’ve seen the full art) that Nyrva is strapped to a table with her vagina exposed.)

This is also from another series of conceptual drawings I did of Nyrva: Nyrva Dragonwood’s quest to reach the old ruins of her own tribe of elven people fails when she meets some thugs on the road. While they don’t kill the Wood Elf they strip her of everything she has including her clothes, leaving only a few meager coins in her hand for her journey home. Apparently the thieves weren’t interested in her death, just her clothes, and everything else she was carrying. But now she has to journey home in the nude. In this scene she has just awakened to this apparent reality.

Meanwhile, I’ll just let Nyrva enjoy her coffee. She’s not kidnapped by anyone right now. This is a drawing I did back in 2009 originally of my character, Nyrva Dragonwood, drinking coffee. Her outfit was originally white but I later re-colored it “Wood Elf” green. She was originally to appear in a bar-like scene drinking with her friends; something I still hope to do. I still consider this drawing of my official “poster girl” shots of Nyrva, but I hope to do a revised one.

An avatar based on my original character Nyrva Dragonwood as a nude Gaia avatar, as conceptualized via the late Tek-tek.org – I only wish that site was still in business.

This is a drawing I did where I visualized my character Nyrva Dragonwood as a catgirl or neko girl instead of a wood elf. Pencil and Photoshop for Nyrva, the background is original stock photographed by me.

As shown in previous posts, here is my Skyrim version or visualization of Nyrva, except I wish she had long-ass hair. But I love the bangs and the side hair.

My avatar of Nyrva’s younger sister, Raiya, sitting nude in a public setting in Second Life.

Another shot of Raiya sitting nude in a public setting in Second Life.

And yet another shot of Raiya nude in a public setting in Second Life.

Here Raiya is shown donning her uniform, and enjoying a Guinness, while serving in the capacity of a Starfleet Lieutenant, at “Starfleet Command” (TOS/The Motion Picture Era) in Second Life.

Raiya is in a roleplay here with a nice group of people who play in a post-TNG era Star Trek RP. She is 130 years from her original time of TOS in the story (but hasn’t changed much in appearance as elves live several centuries and show their age very slowly). I am not as much a fan of this kind of Trek, as I prefer the old Star Trek, but these guys make it fun so it’s well worth it.

Poor Raiya – This is her 130 years later, still not looking any older (since members of her elven race take a long time to show age and live several centuries) but she is captured with her crewmates and frozen by an evil villain in a stasis tube.

An evil scientist has captured Raiya and a couple shipmates and put them in stasis tubes to absorb their souls from their body for the life energy. Will Raiya escape or die here? (Roleplay in Second Life)

This would be my Orion Slave girl character nude in a public place in Second Life.

Another casual nude shot of my Orion Slave girl. This character was completely custom-made using various elements and an avatar in Second Life. (and if CBS wants to make this an issue, then she’s just a nude girl wearing green body paint)

While we’re at it how about my Andorian female avie? Both my Orion Slave and Andorian female characters are custom jobs in Second Life. They use the same avatar body model as Nyrva and Raiya so naturally there will be some similarities in appearance.

How about another shot of my Andorian female character in the buff?

How about Mychelle naked in the same public place? This is not exactly like my drawings of my character Mychelle but this is my “Second Life” version of her.

This is my original artwork of my original character Mychelle Blackwood – she is fully human-like in my drawings except for her cat-like tail and ears. But my Second Life version of her gives her blue hair and a tail instead of green, and cat-like paws for hands and feet. The actual character in my fiction however is as she is shown here.

Another nude of my Second Life version of Mychelle.

Here’s another shot of my character Mychelle sitting butt naked in public.

Another original drawing of my own Mychelle Blackwood, original character- frontally nude. This drawing is merely designed to show her anatomy. As always, pencil for the original drawing, scanned and colored in Photoshop, and layered against original stock photography I shot myself.

This is my Tek-Tek.org conception of Mychelle, based on the Gaia Online design of avatars. I used Tek-Tek so I could make a nude anime version of her based on this design.

I am flying around in my small shuttlecraft in Second Life.

How about an exterior view of my little shuttle. It’s so fun to fly around with this thing.

And that’s all I have for this blog posting of my good, bad, and ugly for today. Be sure to stay tuned to this site for future posts. I may try to do shorter posts a little more often. This is so long because I haven’t done one in awhile.

Until next time. God bless!

Fallen Warchiefs, Legions, Abandoned Realms, etc…

Fallen Warchiefs, Legions, Abandoned Realms…

From Blizzard killing off Vol’jin, to “Legion’s” pre-patch so far, to my further adventures in Second Life as well, and so on…

First- welcome to the NEW Nyrva.org – replacing my site of warcraft.nyrva.org– so this is not only about my own original characters like Nyrva and so forth but my gaming hobbies and other things as well.

The U.S.S. Milwaukee – Registry NCC-005 — My starship in Second Life. The registry number is based on the actual US Naval ship of the same name, the Freedom Class LCS-5 U.S.S. Milwaukee. So for the starship, I made it 005 sort of tipping the hat to the crew of the real ship of the same name- and also since I live in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

This is one of a few shots I got of a Burning Legion ship attacking in World of Warcraft during the pre-expansion patch event.

Another shot of the Burning Legion attack ship. That sky doesn’t look very good.

The Burning Legion lands their portal right outside the Horde outpost at the Crossroads in the Northern Barrens.

This is why we can’t have nice things. The Legion has destroyed the Peak of Serenity. My poor monk can’t hang out here no more.

We got a sad panda here overlooking her devastated training grounds…

My rogue, Yakusa, fighting along side the Warchief, Vol’jin, on that fateful day at the Broken Shore.

Another shot of my rogue with Vol’jin.

This is an awesome shot with her Warglaives of Azzinoth. I did surprisingly well with such low-level weapons on this quest but they look so darn cool!

Roleplaying a classic Star Trek mission with some friends in Second Life.

The Red Dragonflight has come to Second Life! The invasion from Azeroth has begun!

Another shot of Star Trek RP.

I managed to get my Pandaren rogue from World of Warcraft into Second Life– my monk too. This is a shot of my rogue in one of the many sims of Second Life.

My character Nyrva eatng noodles at Insilico– a sci-fi sim in Second Life on the verge of closing down. All their in-game vendors have pulled out and the place is deserted. It’s sad because the place is like “Blade Runner” or “Total Recall” – that kind of feel to it.

Another shot of Nyrva eating noodles.

Yakusa, my rogue, on one of her bikes in front of the noodle shop in Insilico.

The sim called Mos Espa, a little spit job of a Star Wars sim, doesn’t like people wearing “canon” Star Wars characters like I’m doing here. Well I did it for the picture anyways. But I guess it’s OK for one of their admins to use a name like Minx Bade — an obvious reference to the name “Mara Jade” from the Disney-shitcanned Star Wars Extended Universe. But I guess these guys aren’t as bad as “Little Mos Eisley” – a Star Wars sim where you’re supposed to wear an OOC and practically not even talk to other players if you’re not a member.

Yakusa again on her bike at Insilico. I figure I better enjoy the place while it’s still yet open.

Back to Nyrva at the noodle shop at Insilico.

I loved this shot I got of Nyrva sitting on the stool.

Star Trek RP on Planet Risa.

Another shot from Risa.

Nyrva, naked on Risa, Star Trek RP.

How about Nyrva naked in a movie theater?

Another nude shot of Nyrva on Risa enjoying the water.

Back in Orgrimmar: Yakusa sadly says farewell to Vol’jin after he is critically wounded at the Broken Shore. She valued him as a friend and looked to him for leadership and guidance. (OK, a little RP, sue me!)

Yakusa with Vol’jin for the last time…

This damn quest giver wouldn’t stop following my monk around until I stopped and took his quest! I swear, some people!

Hard to say how much longer Insilico will be around, vendors gone, scenes gutted, players abandoned; perfectly poised for a shutdown.

Varian Wrynn, King of Stormwind, is dead. That means his blow-dried jerk motherf**ker pansy son, Anduin Wrynn, is in charge! (Shit! The Horde is gonna take over now!)

You know they’re burying an empty box right? Varian Wrynn got disintegrated by Gul’dan.

The leaders of the Horde attending Vol’jin as he summons Sylvanas Windrunner to assume leadership of the Horde. Did Blizzard do this, make a female Warchief, assuming we’d get Hillary for president? HAHA! We got TRUMP! And GAMON for Warchief! Make Orgrimmar great again!

Yakusa at a cool Anime-based site in Second Life. I like the night city visuals of the place.

s!

How about a naked shot of Nyrva at Insilico? Why not the place will be gone soon anyways. And the day after I shot this, all those info boards for the sim behind her were taken down, gone now.

Seriously Nyrva, why not let people see “it”?

I can’t say where I got this shot, but it’s a recreation of the Dark Portal in Second Life with my rogue Yakusa standing in front of it.

And we got a “money shot” on Nyrva on Risa

Yakusa sitting in the captain’s chair of a Federation starship!

Karazhan– will never be the same since Blizzard got rid of the original raid and replaced it.

The bridge of my ship, the U.S.S. Milwaukee. I built the helm console myself and had some help decking this out.

Another shot of the bridge of the U.S.S. Milwaukee.

Oh, noes! Nyrva’s at Quicksand Cove! Someone’s gonna dunk her naked into a hot drum of liquid! Is this the end of our beloved wood elf?

My monk, Milwaukee, at the Peak of Serenity before it was destroyed in the Legion pre-patch event.

What the F**K is this Blizzard?! I get so tired of their corny ads for Hearthstone crap on the World of Warcraft page of their launcher- and this faggy-ass looking guy and bullshit thing for their expansion for Hearthstone. (and no, I don’t hate LGBTs so don’t even go there with me, I’m ripping on this guy for looking like a shitfaced doof with his shit-eating grin and goofy-ass hair, and Blizzard treating WoW like it’s Disney or something!)

The Dark Lady, Sylvanas Windrunner before Blizzard covered up her mid-drift like the politically correct pansies they are. And because certain Blizzard devs are too worried now all of the sudden what their kids think. (So the game has to reflect that now for the rest of us.)

Of course all my uses of Nyrva whether in World of Warcraft, Skyrim, Second Life, etc. are all based on my artwork of her in some way since this is my original character conception.

This would be my conception of Nyrva in Skyrim, as depicted on previous posts. The hair often never matches my drawings, but I do what I can with what’s available to me.

That’s all I got for now. I will have more to talk about next time and more to share. Until then…

God bless!

Return to Pandaria

Return to Pandaria

With the absolute disaster Warlords of Draenor was, I thought it would be nice to talk about some pictures and screenshots I got from Mists of Pandaria and the fact that perhaps that xpac wasn’t as bad as so many people made it out to be.

 goldenpagoda5

Before Patch 5.3 “Escalation” dropped and the Vale of Eternal Blossoms was destroyed, I decided to get myself a bunch of screenshots of things I knew were getting wiped out after doing the 5.3 preview on the PTR. I’m actually glad I did even though we can never see these in their “pristine” form again (to use a recently thrown-up term, BLIZZARD)  But this was the Golden Pagoda as it was before it got obliterated in 5.3.

nyrva-wow-goldenlotus8

People may remember the two giant Mogu statues before they got blown up? Here’s a shot of them.

goldenpagoda2

Another shot I got at a distance of the two giant Mogu Statues in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms before they – or at least one of them was smashed in Patch 5.3.

goldenpagoda4

Another shot of the Golden Pagoda as it was before.

goldenlotus2

In the early days of my guild, Brew City Horde, my shaman, Treedragon– getting some screenshot pictures with some of the Golden Lotus members. I managed to get all the achievements available at the time for the Golden Lotus under “Eternally in the Vale” on both this character and my hunter before they disappeared with patch 5.3.

nyrva-wow-goldenpagoda10

This shot I’m on my hunter at the Golden Pagoda with the members of the long-deceased Golden Lotus faction, once again- the only other toon I ever got “Eternally in the Vale” on before they took it away.

nyrva-wow-goldenpagoda4

The gateway leading up to the Golden Pagoda from just east of the statues in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms.

nyrva-wow-goldenpagoda14

My hunter from back then with some old faces you can now only see in the Siege of Orgrimmar raid.

I have some more pictures I’ll be uploading at a later time but this is what I have for today.

Until next time… God bless!

Hide Your Sub Numbers All You Want Blizzard, Your Server Lists Don’t Lie

Hide Your Sub Numbers All You Want Blizzard, Your Server Lists Don’t Lie

Blizzard-WoW Killer

Is Blizzard killing World of Warcraft?

In 2015, the longest and most successful MMO, World of Warcraft, suffered its greatest sub losses ever. Declining from 10 million down to 5.5 million subs in less than a year, prompting Blizzard to forever forward, hide their sub numbers from the public.

Note: This graphic and posting is editorial and satirical in nature, created and used in accordance with the United States Copyright FAIR USE policy for the purpose of education, criticism and satire.

Yes, this is a wall of text, TL;DR that hits for 99K Crit!!!!

People have speculated for years on many games being the big “WoW Killer” and they have all come and gone. So far no game has succeeded in killing World of Warcraft. But given the direction Blizzard Entertainment has taken with respect to Warlords of Draenor in many of their decisions, the lack of sufficient endgame content and just the overall lackluster nature of the expansion, and many other factors, I think it’s safe to say the only ones capable of truly killing World of Warcraft are Blizzard Entertainment themselves.

I have featured this obvious text-dub before, but when examining the content of patch 6.1 this satire often feels like how it really must have went down at Blizzard when they released it.

No one can blame other games for “stealing” their players. Many people I have met on other games such as Final Fantasy XIV, Elder Scrolls Online, and others who left WoW, left anyway, either during Lich King, Pandaria, Cataclysm, or more than ever now, most people I talk to now list Warlords of Draenor as their reason for quitting.  They weren’t happy over the “no more flying” drama, or the lack of endgame content, or many other reasons. They’ve left WoW and found other games to enjoy and nothing is going to bring them back now. Unless of course, Blizzard something rather spectacular with respect to Legion, but it looks as if Legion may be the last “hurrah”. I have two subscriptions but I can easily let them lapse if the endgame content for Legion is just as lacking as WoD was. I strongly suspect Legion will likely be the end of the 11 year ride however, and thought I won’t name names, I call them the “3 Stooges of WoW” – the 3 main devs they always put center stage anymore I see as the problem behind the whole deal, and one of them has a LAW backround, shouldn’t even be in the Dev department. He should be in the LAWLyer division for them.

I truly believe the only ones who can kill this game are Blizzard themselves, and right now they are doing an awfully good job of it. When I got on and saw my main server Illidan, normally a FULL server, listed as a MEDIUM pop server for the second time this week, that was a major red flag to me. I haven’t seen that happen ever since I started playing WoW in October 2012. No I never played earlier than Cataclysm. Mists of Pandaria was my “gateway” expansion. And I only appreciate the sentiments of those I have talked to who have played earlier expansions and seen the changes over the years since I cannot personally relate to them.

WoWScrnShot_041016_114831(2)

Here is a screenshot I took this morning– 10-Apr-2016 — this is the second time this week Illidan and Sargeras have been listed as MEDIUM population servers, along with Zul’jin, and several others here normally listed as either FULL or HIGH population servers. Everything else listed as LOW population that were either medium or low, and there were 7 servers instead of the usual 1 or 2 that were flagged for “New Players” – I have not seen this since I started this game in October of 2012 and those servers always had healthy populations. No matter how much Blizzard wants to hide their sub numbers in reports they cannot hide this.

But I also have had a small background in business (though far from an expert) and I’ve been with companies who have seen mergers, or even just major changes, with people leaving the legacy company who were there for many years when they saw the changes comingthey knew when to get out. When I think of some of the big names who have left Blizzard over the last year from developers to community managers, and we can all name the names, we know who they are, it makes me wonder what they saw coming, and what changes are coming down the pike with respect to Blizzard, to World of Warcraft, etc. that prompted all these noted individuals to leave the company, and some of them rather quickly- what changes are coming that we will not see until patch 7.0 and 7.1 go live on the retail servers.

Make no mistake- I LOVE World of Warcraft. I want the game to succeed and be around for many years to come. But I fear Blizzard is going to keep making stupid decisions that will bring an untimely end to what was otherwise a modern timeless classic of a game and caused so many to lose their love of it. They’re now capitalizing on their laurels and believing their own press, making movies and children’s storybooks about it instead of focusing on making the quality content that made the game as popular as it once was. As cartooney as the game sprites look (and I think that’s why I like it, I like cartoons anyways) I still love playing the classic content. I love running Burning Crusade old raids, I love Lich King, Icecrown Citadel is my one of my favorite raids, I even like Pandaria– it was so cool to go in at level 100 and just zerg the shit out of everything I spent 9 months wiping on in Siege of Orgrimmar. I can’t wait to solo that stuff for my meta achieves and mount at level 110 – also be able to sit back and enjoy the lore in ways I could not when people wanted to rush through the raids live. but I wish the new stuff could be just as cool and I hope they can still make decisions for the better.

And as to Blizzard shutting down Nostralius – they are well within their rights to protect their intellectual property as far as that goes, and I don’t endorse private servers, for many reasons beside piracy. (too many seedy things can go wrong)

But it speaks to the issue that the server had something people wanted to boast the numbers that it did. Blizzard had better take a good hard look at this and make some decisions about what they are going to incorporate into this game from now on if they want to keep it successful and keep people subscribed.

So far Legion alpha was showing more of the same “Facebook clicky” garbage from the WoD garrisons, and if they have more of that instead of exploratory out-in-the-world content like they did in WoD, I guarantee it’s going to fail, and fail hard.

But no one is going to kill this game except for Blizzard itself. I will stand on that statement. Right now, they’re doing a darn good job of it. Maybe if they fire some of the incompetent devs I’m thinking of and bring on some better talent they can turn this thing around.

’nuff said.

Until next time, God bless!

A drawing I did of my character Nyrva, playing World of Warcraft.

nyrvahunter-gaia-2014-1

Probably the best video game sprite adaptation of my character Nyrva ever- from Gaia Online– except I never use that site much anymore since they got TekTek.org shut down and they stopped running their zOMG mini MMO. While I made this sprite on Gaia itself, I actually made a lot of sprites on TekTek because it was the only way I could make fully nude ones. But the site was also useful for visualizing your sprite with things you couldn’t always get your hands on, on Gaia if you didn’t have the “Gaia gold” to buy it with or whatever, especially considering how screwed up and severely over-inflated that site’s game economy has long since become where everything now costs billions of gold and impossible to get. And for what? Just to pin a specific graphic item on your sprite to stand around and chat in the Rally there? Really?

nyrva-failedquest2014cl2sm

My wood elf character, Nyrva Dragonwood in a black variant version of one of her outfits. This would be Nyrva on her quest to find the ruins of her people before being taken on the road by bandits and robbed of everything she has, drugged, stripped, and left for dead. The original of this was of her in the nude, so the outfit was added later digitally.

This is Part III in my Machinima series –

World of Warcraft Meets Skyrim Part III

The instability between the worlds of Skyrim and Azeroth continue to expand and now a permanent stable portal between the two worlds has formed allowing the free passage of people and beings from either world to freely pass between Skyrim and Azeroth. To make the situation worse, Horde and Alliance soldiers entering Skyrim have also brought their fighting with them as well, and even to Skyrim’s towns and villages. This also allows the Dovahkiin, Nyrva, a first hand brief look at Elwynn Forest, seeing for herself the might of the Alliance of Azeroth. She eventually comes to realize both the Alliance and the Horde could easily plunder and destroy Skyrim, and seeks to find a way to separate their worlds again.

Problems worsen when Elisif the Fair of Solitude attempts to persuade the Alliance to help her overthrow Ulfric Stormcloak, and crush the dominant Stormcloak Rebellion for Ulfric’s alleged murder of her husband, the High King Torygg. This means Skyrim is now officially pulled into the Alliance and Horde conflict as well, as the Dragonborn, who has fought with the Stormcloaks to overthrow the Empire’s and the Aldimeri Dominion’s hold on Skyrim, assembles a group of Horde and Stormcloaks to stop Elisif’s plan. When she sees so many Stormcloaks fall to defend against Elisif’s plan, she sees how fragile the armies of Skyrim are against the more advanced armies of Alliance and the Horde.

What’s even worse are known dungeons which were part of Azeroth, that have materialized in Skyrim, have now become farming grounds for Skyrim’s natives to hunt down and claim for themselves, Azerothian weapons. As people begin to collect these weapons, new hopes of overthrowing the Aldimeri Dominion begin to surface, but it means the corruption of the people of Skyrim with weapons they were never meant to have.

The Dovahkiin also finally meets the Pandaren monk who originally came to Skyrim, whose epoch stone she left there may in fact be responsible for this whole situation. Where does it all go from here?

Side note: I also tried to throw in some fun little nods and digs to WoW players I hope people will enjoy.

005

This proudly sits atop my desk- here’s my figure of Lady Sylvanas Windrunner from World of Warcraft who normally stands proudly atop my computer. (I just took her down for this shot). I don’t think it really looks like her too much, especially the face. The should have hired a better sculptor.

013

I mentioned catgirl figures, this is one of them. This is my figure of Cham Cham from Samurai Showdown– I also have the normal green-haired version with the yellow tiger-striped outfit. This is blue-haired, white tiger variant, rare and hard to find, from Japan. I also have 3 different figures of Felicia from Darkstalkers.

20160329161726_1

I just love how my Skyrim “Nyrva” looks in Forsworn gear – now it’s almost the only gear I use.

nyrva-coffee-FLT2014rvdsm

This is another one I’d love to have a figure made of- I always considered it one of my iconic drawings of my character Nyrva, but it’s of her just drinking coffee. Wood elf drinking coffee- I just think that’s cool. Would be neat to have a figure of her standing of my desk like that.

ffxiv_04042016_065050

I normally play my character “Nyrva” as an elf, but in this case, she’s a catgirl in Final Fantasy XIV. The female elves in that game are just too disproportionate with small peanut heads on large man-like bodies with man-like shoulder widths- and those are their female elves for Pete’s sake! So “Nyrva” is a catgirl in FF XIV.

I needed another game to get into in case I decided to break from World of Warcraft – if Legion ends up being as lackluster, lacking in substantive endgame content, and cruddy as Warlords of Draenor has been. I play a bit more passive on Final Fantasy XIV right now which is why my character is still in the noob zone at level 13. But I least have another game to dive into if needed.

ffxiv_03032016_130054

So far the only outfit I do like for my toon in this game is her starter gear, so I guess once I figure out what this game’s version of transmogrification is maybe I can set her best gear to look like her starter set? I have no idea how that works yet. Apparently one toon can play all classes and never has to trash their gear. It’s not like World of Warcraft where each toon has their set class with gear restrictions based upon that class. FF XIV reminds me a lot of when I played Final Fantasy Tactics on the original Playstation when every character in the party learned all jobs/classes- leveled them all, could be/play them all, etc. Except in this case you have one toon who can literally become a “jack of all trades, master of all”.

ffxiv_03072016_215921

Oh, noes! They killed her! I got in over my head against some mobs. Apparently you don’t “die” you’re just “KO’ed” but what’s the difference? You can’t continue playing until you “awaken” your character wherever they are set to “hearth” back to, or unless someone rezzes you and there is, like in WoW, the matter of durability damage every time you get KO’ed just like when you die in WoW- which means “good job, Captain Repair Bill” when you “die for being stupid” like I did in this case.

ffxiv_03072016_225644

One thing for sure about FF XIV, very story-rich, a lot of RP like in WoW during many of the main story line quests for your character. So that’s always a plus. But in this case, unlike being just “hero” or “champion” like in WoW, just another “warrior” for the Alliance or Horde, your character in FF XIV IS the story. This story is about YOU, the hero. There is no “Alliance” or “Horde”, no factions, YOU are the star of the story in FF XIV.

WoWScrnShot_040416_072849

Moving onto World of Warcraft transmog, This is a mockup of a Frostwolf transmog leather set sold in Vol’jin’s Spear in Tanaan– but this comes from a toybox item. So my hunter can wear the toybox item for a half hour- I actually like her in it. But since the real set is leather it won’t transmog onto her mail set.

WoWScrnShot_040416_072851

Another shot of my hunter in the toybox item set.

WoWScrnShot_040416_072953

This is my monk wearing the leather set.

WoWScrnShot_040416_072959

And another shot. Monks in World of Warcraft have shitty transmog choices prior to Pandaria especially due to limited transmog tier options. So it’s hard to find decent sets. But just imagine how shitty it will be for Demon Hunters in Legion since they won’t be able to use any tier prior to Legion.

WoWScrnShot_032416_225042

Still one of my favorite boss encounters of all, along with Garrosh Hellscream himself, the Lich King. And I got my monk here, getting a picture with the Lich King wearing her Shado Pan transmog.

WoWScrnShot_032216_191604

The Shado Pan NPC, Tenwu of the Red Smoke dons the chest and legs of the Rogue’s Tier 6 armor from the Black Temple, so I did the same thing with my own Rogue and made her look like a Shado Pan as well and like my monk, Milwaukee, using the Underdweller Spaulder shoulder set from Dragon Soul, to be worn on them in the same fashion as Taran Zhu’s single tiger head shoulder piece. To top it off, I formed my own guild for her called <Shado Pan> along side my own <Brew City Horde> guild, and made her the only toon in it. So now my rogue, Yakusa, runs around with <Shado Pan> under her name in addition to looking like one, and having for herself, the name of the Japanese Mafia as her own name. (Pandaren, mock-Asian panda race, a rogue is your basic “thief class”, so… “Yakusa” is a perfect name to me.) To really add to it I made her my jewelcrafter. So your basic thief class, named after the Japanese Mafia, picks locks, picks pockets, is the one who cuts the gems and jewels, etc. – I just loved the total package of it all.

A WoW Machinima Tribute – For Han Solo

A tribute to Han Solo, one of my all time favorite childhood heros, brutally killed by an emo punk Kylo Ren, who desperately deserves to die. So I put that in a machinima, and I hope he dies in the next Star Wars VIII. And I think Snoke is Darth Plageius the Wise, I don’t care what others think, so there! 😛

Machinima – “Party Like a Rock Star” Hair Metal version

Everyone knows the song by the Shop Boyz, but this is a machinima I just released with my characters and the L90ETC Tauren Chieftans jamming to the HAIR METAL version of the song- artists unknown. It was something I found on iTunes under the name Radical Re-Interpretions but they credit absolutely no musicians as far as who played what on the song. (the jerks!) but it sounds like Mark Slaughter on vocals to me, not sure who else might be playing.

20160403112055_1

A shot of my Skyrim toon clone of Nyrva strirring soup. I caught Sylvanas Windrunner doing that since I have her as a Skyrim follower as well. But missed out getting a shot of it, that was trippy. I hope to catch her in the act at some point and put it on this blog. What kind of soup would the Banshee Queen make? lol!

And FOUL on killing Superman in Batman vs Superman, if you bring him back, that’s BS. That whole thing of killing off characters and bringing them back has been done into the ground and done to death. It’s just so old, give it a rest already. Leave Superman dead then.

Despite the one issue, I LOVED Batman vs Superman despite many critic reviews and fans poo-pooing the movie. But I think for myself and my opinion is my own. I am actually looking forward to the Wonder Woman movie and the Justice League movie as well. I’m not so interested in Suicide Squad– that’s like playing Grand Theft Auto to me, I’m more into the heroes, I don’t care about the villains. I like to see the good guys beat the villains, but I’m oldschool, so I’ll leave it at that.

That’s all I got for now! Until next time, next blog!

Peace out! God bless!

Waiting for #Legion

Waiting for #Legion

WARNING: Some content on this page not suitable for some viewers or those under 18

wow_legion_1-e1439225957791

Blizzard, having failed to learn “the lessons of Pandaria” as it were, as with Siege of Orgrimmar, has us all now sitting a second expansion in a row waiting well in excess of a year for new content to drop. Blizzard’s own promotional materials lists September 21, 2016 as the “release by” date for the forthcoming Legion expansion.

zz-legion-sep2016

Blizzard’s own promotional materials confirm we have a long way to go before #Legion drops.

What to do until then?

WoWScrnShot_022816_202251

If one stays subscribed to World of Warcraft, there is plenty of old content to catch up on. This of course is a great time to level alts, farm gold, farm transmog, achievements and the like. And now is a good time to take advantage of garrison gold missions since Blizzard is taking them all away when #Legion drops.

WoWScrnShot_022816_202316

I for one am looking forward to the new transmog system where all transmog items will be shared account-wide. In this case, my hunter, Nyrva’s ability to hide her footwear with the item Griftah’s Authentic Troll Shoes (no longer obtainable in the game – it was only available during patch 5.3) will be shared with any other toons I want to use them on in the game.

I have been leveling alts myself, and catching up on some achievements during the wait. I wouldn’t recommend any further garrison or shipyard development at this stage, especially if you can craft your own gear for your toons and farm Kazzak for ilevel 700 drops and any baleful items you can get out of Tanaan Jungle. It would cost lest to buy a weekly raid token for 500g at this point out of Ashran than to sink thousands into new garrison development now here at the end of the expansion. And I wouldn’t go gung-ho on obtaining mats anymore either since they’re selling for peanuts at auction house these days. The scent of the expansion’s end is well in the air and there’s still 6 months of waiting for #Legion to drop.

But I’ve also been playing my other favorite games such as Skyrim and Rocket League, and trying out some other games as well.

2015-12-30_00066

This is my clone of Nyrva – my Skyrim character in Skyrim.

Screenshot_20160228_161438 Screenshot_20160228_151202

As “Nyrva” in The Elder Scrolls Online now as well. I scored a copy for $9.95 off of CDKeys.com and since a subscription is no longer required to play it, I figured TESO can be a nice “filler” game between now and Legion.

Apparently there is no future for an Elder Scrolls VI since Elder Scrolls Online came out and Bethesda is entirely fixated and obsessed with Fallout 4, so any hope of a conclusion to the Aldmeri Dominion/Thalmor story in Skyrim is solely left up to the fans. But that is an entirely different discussion altogether.

(I would personally like another Elder Scrolls game while my computer that I currently own that plays Skyrim is still sort of state-of-the-art so I can keep Skyrim with all my current addons and mods and Steam games that I like, thank you Bethesda.)

2015-12-17_00012

If nothing else, I guess we can help the Stormcloaks overthrow the filthy Imperial Thalmor lapdogs, crown Ulfric Stormcloak high king of Skyrim and then liberate Skyrim from the Thalmor once and for all? (I figure I have to write my own conclusion since Bethesda won’t give us one.)

nyrvadragonwood-bio2014rds2

Nyrva Dragonwood – nude female wood elf pose. A word about roleplay: While I don’t talk in character in games, I do use my original character “Nyrva” as a basic roleplay character in a lot of games. Nyrva is an original character of mine I created back in the late 90s, defined as a female wood elf. This is a character drawing I did of her which simply defines her anatomical appearance. While I can’t exactly duplicate this appearance in most games, I usually end up roleplaying a female elf with brown hair with the name “Nyrva”.

nyrva-beachnude2014rvsd2sm

This is an older drawing, but Nyrva standing by the oceanside in her birthday suit. I keep wanting to do an update drawing. Seeing as I haven’t done any drawing in awhile I’m about due for some. Nudes aren’t the only thing I do, but sometimes I don’t always have costume designs I like for my characters so I just do artistic nudes.

nyrva-failedquest2014nudsm

Another drawing I did of Nyrva Dragonwood nude in the forest.

nyrva-coffee-FLT2014rvdsm

If you don’t like nudes, here’s my classic drawing of Nyrva drinking coffee. Do wood elves drink coffee? I have no idea- this one does I guess! lol!

nyrva-tektek-nakedchains2

Gaia Online and TekTek.org were two sites I liked to use to make sprites of my character Nyrva such as this one- of her naked and shackled. (I think I may actually draw this one of these days! haha!) But Gaia sucks ever since they shut down their fun little Zomg MMO and closed down TekTek. All they have now is an over-inflated economy where you might as well cheat to buy Gaia gold if you want to obtain any character items worth talking about, but seriously who cares? It’s just pixels on a dress-up virtual doll. I originally joined thinking it was some kind of online game with anime-like sprites.

WoWScrnShot_022815_200716

“Nyrva” is not the only character I have played of course – my main for Warlords of Draenor has largely been my Pandaren monk, Milwaukee.

WoWScrnShot_022816_223744

Xandrelle (Zan-drell’) – my Ret Pally is my latest level 100 for Warlords and my boosted character for Legion– but it wasn’t without me leveling her to level 70 first so I could get some idea of how to play a pally, and of course it let me get the profession bonus since I leveled her to 60 before boosting.

WoWScrnShot_022816_224557

Wisconsinmoo is my Tauren Balance Druid (Boomkin) – I boosted him in Mists of Pandaria but as a Feral at the time. I never really spent any time trying to play the character so he ended up shelved for a long time, except for being used in a few of my machinima videos as a character “extra”. But out of boredom in the last couple months I decided to bring him to the server I’ve been playing on, level him to 100 and get to know the class. I switched from Feral to Boomkin and still trying to figure out the rotation but I suppose by the time I got it down Legion will drop and I’ll have to figure it out all over again. Go figure! But I figure with the long wait for #Legion this is a great time to level new toons and experiment with new classes.

2016-02-28_00002

Another thing I did was get my Playstation 2 emulator on my computer up and running, PCSX2, so I can run my favorite Playstation 2 games, which include among others, all my favorite arcade classics from back in the day.

Here is a video I did playing Joust on my PCSX2 emulator, then doing the Joust quest in Mt. Hyjal for an achievement in World of Warcraft – talk about catching up on those achievements, right?

2015-12-29_00002

Experimenting with an underground bath house addon in Skyrim- this one had a shower room. But it caused too much conflict with other addons, so I had to “86” it.

2016-02-15_00014

Working on my “WoW Meets Skyrim III” video – setting up different shot ideas. It’s helpful to have a mod with Sylvanas Windrunner as a follower. I guess some of the extra time is giving me more time to work on Machinima. I’m burned out on raiding lately anyways.

This was my WoW Meets Skyrim II video – a bit long but it sets up the story for what’s coming in Part III.

2015-11-26_00031

I guess this could be a shot for the “Sports Illustrated Nude Elf” edition? My Dragonborn, Nyrva, standing atop some rocks near Whiterun.

2016-02-29_00015

There’s always time to mess around on Skyrim…

2016-02-29_00016

Vladimir Kulich as Ulfric Stormcloak (there is an actual mod of this on Nexusmods).

That’s all I got for now.

Until next time! Take care and God bless!

General thoughts, World of Warcraft, Gaming, or whatever I feel like talking about…

Nyrva-Skyrim-11-12-15

My character “Nyrva” as played in Skyrim. At least Blizzard devs don’t have any say about what I get to do here.

Blizzard Does It Again

Just as the issue of flying in Warlords of Draenor, Blizzard once again seeks to dictate what our gaming experiences should be in Legion with limited “artifact” weapons.

wow_legion_1-e1439225957791

It’s Blizzard’s “Class Fantasy”, Not Yours!

Many may remember all the drama Blizzard devs recently caused all the fans and players of World of Warcraft in Warlords of Draenor over the issue of flying over the last 2+ years. It started with them saying we’ll get it in patch 6.1 at Blizzcon 2013, and by Bashiok, to “No Flying in 6.1”. But the Capital Hill politician-style waffle-iron flip-flopping doesn’t stop there as lead World of Warcraft game designer, Ion Hozzakostas, on Friday May 22, 2015, the friday of Memorial Day Weekend, drops the biggest bombshell of all when he announces; not through an official Blizzard website, but through a third-party website, Paragon, that we will never get to fly again in Warlords or any future World of Warcraft expansion.

Ion-Hazzakostas

Needless to say this announcement caused a major backlash among the user fan base, resulting in 10 major Battle.net forum threads, tons of messages on Twitter, a boat ton of commentary and fan videos on YouTube- resulting in Blizzard eventually having to backtrack and compromise allowing flying provided certain in-game conditions were met. And admittedly, while I think a bit excessive, not entirely unreasonable to say “do this content, you get to fly” but it unlocked flying on all characters. But the controversy didn’t end there- to this day there is no clearly defined timeline on when players will be able to unlock flying in Legion, just that it will “work similar” to “Warlords”. Stay tuned…

alex-afrasiabi-noflying

If Taking Flying Away Wasn’t Bad Enough…

Ion-Hazzakostas-shutup

Welcome to Legion where the BLIZZARD DEVS decide your “Class Fantasy”!

Legion is the newly announced expansion, hastily announced, seemingly, in response to severely sagging subscription numbers last summer, which Blizzard has since stated they are no longer going to make public.  It was announced last summer at Gamescon in Europe before a seemingly unenthusiastic crowd by their “usual suspects” in crime- Ion Hozzakostas, Alex Afrasiabi, and Dave Kosak.  The very three devs who stirred the pot on the flying issue and upset a lot of people were put center stage for this annoncement. Nowhere did we see Chris Metzen who was better suited to stir excitement about an expansion if anyone could do it. And Blizzard gave a mere 4 hours to WoW for Blizzcon 2015, so they paid their biggest game mere lip service while propping up other shit games of theres like Overwatch, Heroes of the Storm, and other copycat games of theirs they apparently expect to eventually replace WoW with apparently. Meanwhile they’re buying up Candy Crush and other shit games while releasing minimal content for Warlords- consisting of more Facebook-style clicky garrison mission crap. We all know the failures of Warlords.

The lack of substantive content in patch 6.1 inspired satirical videos such as this one.

So we’re going to trust these three devs to provide substantive content in Legion? We’ll see! They better or the party is over for the longest standing MMO in history.

So Here We Go Again Blizzard…

Just as you did with flying, Blizzard, you have set out to dictate and control what player  experience is with respect to what weapons they get to have on their characters based on the “Class Fantasy” (you guys are all the sudden fixated on this new fetish and term of yours) that YOU, not the player, have for our characters we are all paying $15 a month to play. And how? By assigning each character an artifact weapon with no other options other than that weapon. There will be no other weapons in Legion, and you will be stuck with this weapon type for the whole of Legion. You can transmog but only into the same weapon style that the item will transmog into. A Windwalker Monk fist weapon cannot transmog, let’s say, into a 1-handed sword or axe, you’re stuck with a fist weapon, period. Unless there is a major player-base uprising over this issue like there was about flying we’re stuck with whatever weapon designs the Blizzard devs, not we as players, think we should have. It’s their “class fantasy”, and not ours.

legion-paintynumber-weapons

Not to worry! Don’t like the item? You can use this nice, handy paint-by-number style system to just change the color and, voila! Now you have a weapon that’s different than your friend has! …not!

I’m getting the xpac myself, and I have mixed feelings not just because of this but because of all the recycling they seem to be doing of old content trying to make it new. But if this expansion is not just awesome from day one all the way through, I think Legion is where I will hang it up. And with subscription numbers the lowest they have been since Vanilla and Blizzard now concealing them from now on, I’m sure it will be the nail in the coffin for a lot of people if Legion doesn’t deliver, sadly.

Flying, Legion, and Other Stuff…

nyrva-plays-wow1sm

Original artwork I did of my own original character, Nyrva Dragonwood, depicted as playing World of Warcraft in this scene.  The digital screenshot of WoW was added to the drawing.

Flying in Warlords of Draenor… Finally! …plus Legion and Other stuff…

I still can’t believe we finally got flying but I have become the cynic when it comes to anything that comes out of the mouth of Ion Hozzakostas or any other developer from Blizzard Entertainment anymore.  A feature that has been in World of Warcraft since “Burning Crusade” has become a tool of controversy and endless e-drama by the World of Warcraft developers since Blizzcon 2013. First we were supposed to get it in 6.1, then Alex Afrasiabi pushes it back to “wait and see” status again, then Ion Hozzakostas waits until the Friday before Memorial Day weekend of all dates to tell us, “Oh, by the way, never again…” and these announcements did not even come on official Blizzard sources but through interviews on other 3rd party websites.

So Blizzard’s constant waffling on the issue combined with their unwillingness to be forthright about their intentions through their own official sources to me destroys their credibility. I figure we can dismiss anything they say from now on- only believe what you actually get in the game. They called 6.1 a “major content patch” when all we got was a raid (released prior to the actual patch) and a selfie camera that does nothing more than link to your Twitter account and give them free “trending now” publicity via Twitter- nothing but a thinly-veiled, cheap, marketing tool.

We were promised flying “eventually” with a 6.2.x patch that was to be “weeks” that ended up being over 2 months in the waiting, and well after 6.2 was released. So in reality, Warlords of Draenor was a complete piece of s**t xpac with only one true major content patch, and that was 6.2 with 1 new zone, true new content, and a raid.

So we finally did get our flying IF we jumped through all of the “proper hoops” and earned our “Pathfinder” achievements. And we got flying now basically when the xpac is over and the content is worthless now.

nyrvagaia-hunterelf

But did you think they would learn after causing so much drama? Of course not. Ion Hazzakostas turned around and announces flying won’t be available right away in Legion either, won’t be forthright again of when it will unlock- they’ll probably pull what they did with this xpac. As far as I’m concerned these devs are just abusing the fan base, and it won’t change until fans start voting with their wallets. We have seen a sharp drop in subs down to 5.6 million and I was curious to see what the Q3 numbers are for 2015 if they haven’t fallen further. But it looks like we’ll have to do the same song and dance BS we had to do in Legion if we want to unlock flying.

Unfortunately starting with Q3 and beyond, the Blizzard subscription numbers are now “classified” as Blizzard just recently announced they will no longer be releasing this information. So when you’re playing on your dead and dying server, that will be your only gauge for the health of the game from now on. Blizzard also stated their focus would be on profits. So it’s about the money and keeping people on the grind, they don’t care about the players at all now.

Blizzard and the Lessons of Pandaria… FAIL!

You would think after letting everybody sit for 14 months on Siege of Orgrimmar with no new content that Blizzard would not make the same mistake twice.

zz-legion-sep2016

World of Warcraft “Legion” is set to release “on or before Sept 21, 2014” — 14 months after the release of patch 6.2, the final patch of Warlords of Draenor, just like Siege of Orgrimmar.

What are players supposed to do with Vol’mar or Lion’s Watch for the next year until then?

I figure I’ll work on alts and older content and achievements, but if Legion ends up sucking as bad as Warlords did, I’ll be done with WoW. Not because I hate WoW, but because of Blizzard and their incompetant idiocy and decisions ever since this expansion came out.

I suppose we will have to wait and see.

The Demise of TekTek.org

TekTek.org Bites the Dust

MIB-agent-51

Thanks to Gaia Online, the conceptual site of TekTek.org has shut down for good. Providing Gaia fans a sandbox to dream up many possibilities for Gaia Avatars in a way you can’t do on Gaia without having tons of Gaia Gold (and things on Gaia becoming so expensive it’s a wonder how anyone gets a billion gold to get anything on their marketplace worth having) – Gaia used it’s legal muscle to shut down TekTek.org.

nyrvagaia-nudehunter1

With the permanent removal of Gaia’s long-running MMO zOMG, with the removal of various other features over the years such as the Gaia Cinemas and other fun features– Gaia is little more than a site full of worthless micro-transactions. And their attempt to launch an alternative social site Tentacl.com to replace Gaia’s anime-based social site, failed miserably.

How much life Gaia has left to it remains to be seen. I expect the site to fold within a year or two but who knows. It has nothing of any substance to offer fans and there needs to be more than just a social hangout with anime avatars (as cool as their avatars can be). Many other game sites and platforms are out there and there are many other social networking sites. So what will keep Gaia afloat remains to be seen- probably as long as they can sucker people into spending $10 a pop on their worthless avatars which can do little more now than hang out in a virtual parking lot and chat all day.

nyrva-gaia-huntermay2013

But the death of TekTek.org brings with it the death of an otherwise cool fan site, which was not charging anything for the ability to experiment with Gaia avatars in a sandbox environment in a way Gaia just cannot provide.

nyrvagaia-hunterelf

Mockups of my characters Nyrva Dragonwood and Mychelle Blackwood were entirely possible in Gaia and TekTek- but now Gaia sucks and TekTek is dead.

Game Over, Gaia!

Warlords of Draenor 6.2 Thoughts…

Thoughts on Warlords of Draenor 6.2

I don’t often write speculation posts about WoW but in this case I figure I’ll make an exception.

TO FLY OR NOT TO FLY

Blizzard’s silence on this issue is very strange and suspicious- they have managed to totally divide their fan base on yet again another issue.

I am pro-flying and will always be pro-flying. I totally agree that flying while leveling and perhaps during certain content would not be appropriate- but in the general world zones after you have leveled I believe it should be allowed and that people who do not like flying should simply not use it.

Blizzard it seems refuses to give a solid yes or no answer to this question after reneging on the issue with patch 6.1 when they originally said at Blizzcon 2013 we’d get flying then.

They delete any threads on the public forums where people say they want flying- as if Blizzard does not care what the fan base thinks. threads about flying are locked and deleted quickly by Blizzard devs and forum censors who don’t want people lobbying for this feature in the game. Interesting to note is that all pro-flying messages get tons of upvotes while anti-flying messages get downvoted hard.

Blizzard’s release of the skimpiest patch ever- 6.1 which only consisted of a selfie camera that ties to Twitter so they can dupe fans into giving them free publicity on twitter – begs the question to me of how committed Blizzard still is to providing their subscribers quality game content.

Will flying be part of 6.2? I want flying myself- and if I had the money to buy 51% stock in Activision/Blizzard– the Blizzard devs would have to choose between allowing flight or losing their jobs (yes I would really do that– no flying until level cap, then a questline or something to get flying, etc. they would be required to put this in or be sent to the street to find work elsewhere.)

But given how Blizzard refuses to touch on this issue at all and constant censors any fan attempt to discuss this- it’s probably safe to assume flying will not be returning to World of Warcraft any time soon, if ever.

This begs another question as to why they are selling store mounts that fly when you cannot fly with them in current content.

Until next time…

God bless! 😀

My Mains for Warlords of Draenor

My Mains for Warlords of Draenor

Despite my disappoinment with the lack of endgame at level 100, and Blizzard’s boneheaded decisions about no flying for the whole xpac (apparently) among others, I have been working with my Pandaren Windwalker Monk, Milwaukee (left) and my Blood Elf Beast Master Hunter, Nyrva (right)

Nyrva (right) became my first main, was my first level 90 since I started World of Warcraft in October 2012, and Milwaukee (left) has been my main so far for Warlords- is now my first level 100, with me getting close to 100 on Nyrva.

But who says you have to have only one “main” – I see it that my monk is my main melee toon and my hunter is my main ranged – both DPS.

Both of these characters, I got the legendary 600 cloak on in Mists of Pandaria, in addition to getting ilvl 570+ on between normal raiding and epic drops from Ordos on Timeless Isle.

Despite my disappointment with a lot of Blizzard’s decisions about this expansion, I plan to work with these two, along with developing a 2nd Pandaren Beast Master hunter I’ve leveled (with skinning) and a few other toons of mine. I also figure I’ll develop these best as I can, and farm some old content I wasn’t able to solo before this, such as Deathwing and a few other instances for transmog and mounts.

Meanwhile, here’s some screenshots of my two “mains”…

Hunting for cool xmog is always a must!

The Warglaives of Azzinoth were not an option to me. I’m also after them on another monk I have, and my Pandaren Rogue.

Hard to get these shots of my character and jumping just right- split-second timing for the shot.

I’ll be especially curious to see how my hunter looks whenever they release the new blood elf models.

These shots were hard to get!

That’s all for now! Enjoy!

Roleplaying in 2014

Roleplaying in 2014

Changes to World of Warcraft and Gaia Online, among other roleplay options, examined.

nyrvas-writing-2014rvsd-sm

First, I really don’t consider myself much of a roleplayer, except that I play RPGs and use my characters where I can, or just create characters based on existing models in a game. Just that it happens I use my own character, in this case, Nyrva Dragonwood, as an RP character in some games. And it’s just to use the character, I don’t roleplay her or talk in character, etc.

But I’ve been weighing my options in terms of my gaming and online entertainment.

nyrva-gaia-zomg2014

Gaia Online has ended, it seems, their longstanding run of Zomg. The game is no longer featured, accessible, or playable anywere on their site. Since that game is no longer available on Gaia online, I would presume all character data, items, achievements, and related play materials are all gone.

gaia-nyrvahouse-xmas2012

Gaia’s player housing is one of the only remaining options for using Gaia characters in a roleplay-type situation. But this is more like a virtual dollhouse rather than a game.

MiB-watching-Gaia

MiB-Insurance3 MIB-agent-51

One of my Gaia alts, “MIB Agent 51” with his vehicle at the “Rally” and his “Insurance Company”. This “undercover” agent I created is kind of a joke – especially since he stands out so much in this crowd of well-decorated characters. But he’s really in the “insurance business” and of course, is behind all the conspiracies we know all about, except that “they don’t exist”.

With the end of Zomg, there are no real online roleplay options for Gaia anymore. The only other roleplay for characters in Gaia is their “hangouts” like the “Rally” which are nothing more than a chatroom with Gaia dolls, rather than actually being a game. (Strangely, Gaia classifies and lists this as a “game” when it’s just a chat room.)  And they’ve now launched another site, Tentacl.com,  which I expect will be the end of Gaia Online itself, soon enough. The days of Gaia itself may very well be numbered if Tentacl is successful. Who knows. Honestly, I haven’t done much with Gaia at all in the last year. With the demise of Zomg, I rarely have any reason to go on the site anymore.

As for making custom avatars, I can achieve most of what I want via tektek.org as far as that goes.

World of Warcraft

WoWScrnShot_120614_021459 WoWScrnShot_120614_021557

Dual-boxing on World of Warcraft.  My Pandaren Windwalker Monk, Milwaukee (left) and my Blood Elf Beast Master Hunter, Nyrva (right) – at my monk’s garrison on World of Warcraft: Warlords of Draenor.

I must say, despite criticism by many WoW fans, I rather enjoyed much of the lore behind Mists of Pandaria.

I am rather disappointed with the new expansion, Warlords of Draenor  — many of the features we were told would happen from Blizzcon 2013 never made it into the game. These include putting garrisons anywhere we wanted, capital cities for Horde and Alliance later changed to Ashran, tabs for BOAs and tabards — totally gone, no plans in sight. And they told us we’d get flying in 6.1 and how have gone back on that too, and told us no flying. But this didn’t come from a blue post on Battle.net. Rather, it was a hidden, clandestine, off-Blizzard site like Reddit, where they decided to finally reveal this. (I don’t pay attention to sites like Reddit and Twitter, etc. I feel like I shouldn’t have to police those sites to get relevant news about my games- that should come from the official source to me.) Blizzard seems to have very little credibility in terms of what they say they will do with their games as opposed to what they actually do with them.

WoWScrnShot_120814_172901

As for the new expansion? While I enjoyed the awesome cinematics and leveling, the endgame absolutely sucks. The terrain is a twisting maze of cliffs and canyons with “jump puzzles” similar to what you’d find in a Super Mario game. With the total removal of flying, and no hope for flying in sight, Blizzard actually expects people to not only level without flying (reasonable expectation), but they expect everyone to put up with 2 years of a 2 tier expansion that will now, apparently, have no flying. I suspect flying will no longer be allowed in any future World of Warcraft expansion as Blizzard’s way of cutting costs, and catering solely to the  demands of the “Vanilla WoW/hardcore” crowd.

As far as the whole flying issue goes on WoW, I love the blatant hypocrisy of those who are of the “anti-flying” crowd who have the audacity to want to force their play style on the pro-flying crowd but then have the nerve to use the in game “flight masters” or flying mounts of any kind in any of the old zones. Those people should only be allowed to own and use ground mounts.

Endgame sucks and is very limited. You can farm your garrison, do PvP, and wander through the terrain doing dailies like a Super Mario, jump-puzzle character. You don’t get to do dungeons or LFR if you don’t first do, and clear, the silver “Proving Grounds”. Otherwise you have to find people to pug with if you want to do instances. This won’t serve as any gate since people can join premades through the new in-game “oQueue” feature or sign up for runs on sites like Open Raid.

I love WoW overall but I hate the new expansion. The storyline (finishing off the Iron Horde, and developments with the Burning Legion aside) pretty much seems to end in Negrand where you finally kill Garrosh Hellscream.

SPOILER WARNING FOR VIDEO – DO NOT WATCH IF YOU DO NOT WANT SPOILERS!

I hope the next patches will have something of a redeeming quality to justify the changes, and especially, the “no flying” stance. (Not to mention I have spent $150 on store-bought mounts I can never fly on in the new content! Plus all the mounts I have farmed because they could fly. I’m peeved about this!)

I hope the next expansion will be some real quality material instead of a rehash, and reboot of previous expansion material as well. While I liked the revisit to the Burning Crusade content with some new twists, I’d prefer to see some all-new material, expecially with the changes to the Horde and the Alliance we saw at the end of Pandaria.

I am checking out some other games, just not wanting to put so much into WoW anymore. I will still play, but I will cancel it if they keep making boneheaded decisions as what they put out for content.

I’ve been trying out some other online games, in addition to exploring other single player options. I might even hook up my old Playstation 2 again for some of those games I haven’t yet finished.

That’s all for now. hope to post more soon!

God bless! 😀

YouTube Raid Videos 8-Feb-2014

This was a raid on Stormwind – “For the Horde” achievement on 22-Jan-2014

It was a lot of fun and we got all four cities done in one night. It went rather smoothly, and funny enough I never got killed once or get PvPed by anyone, though I did get some shots in and honor kills on some Alliance players. But I don’t like PvP as a general rule.

Flexible Raid – Malkorok – Siege of Orgrimmar – 12-Jan-2014

This was with my short run with the guild Fusion on Zul’jin. Nice bunch of people, very friendly and fun to play with, but their plans for normal raiding didn’t fit my schedule so I left to pursue my own interests there. But this was a fun run. We cleared the 3rd wing of Siege in Flex with their guild.
